Luxardo is almost certainly the brand leader and I have almost always purchased this brand. A small amount poured onto a fruit salad makes an ideal accompaniment. It is particularly good on strawberries. It is often difficult to find in the High Street. On the debit side however, it is the most expensive Maraschino Liqueur on the market, particularly as most other brands are for 70cl whilst Luxardo is only 50cl. I have recently purchased a 70cl bottle of the brand 'Briottet' for a little over £16 but I have yet to try it. If it is good, it is a far better buy than Luxardo which costs more than £19.

I ordered this to add a new dimension to my Christmas cake. It's not sweet at all, it almost just tastes like brandy so if you're looking for a sweet cherry liqueur this is not for you. My cake tasted delicious in the end.
