This little gadget does work. It will charge up a mobile phone or mp3 player, but, it is hungry on batteries. One AA Duracell alkaline battery would only get 1 bar out of 7 back on my Nokia 6680 phone. Ok, so I could make a call, but this device is only for emergency use.

It failed completey to put any charge bcak into my Garmin sat nav. It appeared to be topping up the charge, but checking back later the sat had been drained flat. This may be a problem with the sat nav switching back on when the charge dried up.

My recommendation would be to get a version of this type of portable charger that uses 2 AA batteries for more umphh, such at the Charge Monkey.

Great little gadget, I also use the powermonkey explorer but obviously that can only charge one device at a time so I decided to get back up in the form of battery charging.
This little gizmo is usable straight out of the packet, place battery inside and off you go! Ideal for travel with its compact size and simplicity. Excellent value for money

The "Powerstick" from Gizmo/Amazon is an amazingly easy back-up device for my V3 - without me having to carry around either spare batteries or mains / car charger.
The available adaptors do restrict it's use to a few makes and does not cover Panasonic [much like all other available emergency chargers].
It is quite sturdy and a great "gadget".

A very cheap way to make EMERGENCY calls, don't buy this if you want to charge your phone, especially a smart phone. I found that when my HTC was nearly our of juice and plumbed this in the rate of power being used by the phone was still far greater then what was going in. I'm sure its fine for earlier model phones.

Also the black cable from the stick doesn't have a secure enough fit and falls out a lot so when you think you're getting a charge, you're not and still can't make that call.

I bought this product so I could charge my IPod and Phone on a month long expedition. I knew it didn't include an IPod connector, but I already had one.
However when it arrived the first thing I noticed was the poor quality materials used to hold together a tiny, fragile and cheaply made circuit board. I unscrewed the bottom as detailed in the leaflet only to see small fragments of chipped plastic and plenty of dust.
I attempted to get it to charge my phone, without success. I then proceeded to try 4 other phones. Two of which said they were charging, but 8 hours later and 2 lithium batteries (the longest lasting aa batteries) later, they had charged enough to be on standby for 10 minutes.
Ultimately a disappointing and poor product, which should be avoided.
My suggestion is to buy an energiser "energi to go".

The build quality of this product is very poor, with rough finishes and poorly fitting together components. Out of the packet I found mine didn't actually work. However, after jiggling the small circuitboard at the top so the contacts actually connected with the battery it sprung in to life.

After that initial hiccup, it now works perfectly. I've tried it with a Nokia phone, the HTC desire and a Sandisk MP3 player and all charge happily. I am broadly happy with this product. It does what it's supposed to, is the smallest charger I could find, and comes with a surprising number of adapters for the low price. Given the build quality, I'm not sure how long it will continue to work for though!

I bought this charger to act as a battery backup for my HTC touch HD. It does not work! It does charge one of my other phones (NOKIA) ok.
