1) Simply attach NT-060 Mini Microphone to the earphone socket on iPod nano 4G or 120GB iPod classic, it'll unlock the voice recording software already installed on the device, the "Voice memos" option will be shown on the main menu of iPod.
2) When using it on iPod touch 2G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G or iPhone, you need to download and install recording software such as iTalk Recorder or Easy Recorder etc. on the device first.

I got a couple of these to try and have been very impressed with them. Basically the Lupo is a high quality mic that plugs into the headphone socket of the iPhone/iPod. In turn it is used with any of the many available recorder applications (even the Apple one!) to turn your device into a dictaphone. The recorded sound quality is very good and it can be used to record in larger spaces.
The only downside is that when the mic is plugged in, you no longer hear any iPhone speaker output, because it thinks that there is an external speaker attached. All you need do is unplug the microphone and you will hear through the speaker again.
Definitely worth the price, do like me and get a couple, one for the desk, one for the rucksack!

I wanted a mic to record ambient sound on my ipod touch. I had tried one (bought elsewhere)as part of a headphone set up, but it was not up to the job. However, when I plugged this one in and stuck it out of the window I really was suprised at the range and quality of this mic. The outside world recorded on this tiny mic! This was just what I was looking for.
If you are reading the reviews of these then you probably know that they are not much good for using skype or some such voip on your ipod as there is only 1 in/output on them. But if you are looking for a microphone to record with, this is a very good and very well priced Mic

its definitley worth the money because its great quality and its small but i give it 4 stars because i was dissapointed that i couldnt speak then play it back in my earphone while the mic is plugged in because i had to keep taking the mic out then pluggin ear phones in then mic in. so i give it 4 stars. apart from that, i recommend it.

LUPO Mini microphone
This product is awful and disappointedly smaller than expected. I have not been encouraged to use it. I think the picture was an exerggeration and the description deceptive.

so simple but effective, with proper record software this is so simple to use, sound quality is good even bit distance from recording objects, works.

You may not need this.
I should have tested the iPhone on its own before buying this product - I have been quite impressed with the clarity of recordings using Voice Memos and the onboard mic. Read more
