3.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for... 8 Jun 2010
The case is functional, but quite flimsy.

After using it for a week the iPad has started to 'sag' in the case, meaning the bottom of the touch screen sits too close to the edge of the case making it fiddly to register touches in that area.

Good as a stop gap measure until higher quality cases are available though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money 5 Jun 2010

I spent some time in the Apple store looking at cases for £30 plus.

Then I came back and ordered this. And I'm very pleased I did. To be honest, it doesn't look any different to the more expensive leather products I was looking at. It could, perhaps, have been a slightly better fit as the iPad tends to slide down a tiny fraction too far - but that's easily fixed by a bit of non-slip material.

The stand works wonderfully well. There are no pockets (although shown in the illustration) but they would be utterly unnecessary.

Given the outrageous prices charged for almost anything with the word "Apple" in the title this case is quite outstanding value for money and highly recommended.

It does however smell... but only at first. When I opened the package, the pong bowled me over. I found it quite unpleasant. However, it's now around 4 days old and the smell has almost disappeared (I have to hold it to my nose to get any hint of it) so patience will pay off. Given the money you're saving, this is a small thing indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money 21 Aug 2010

Very pleased with this case. As others have mentioned it's a little loose (take care your precious ipad doesn't slip out when in use!) and the ipad sinks down a bit too far slightly restricting access to the home button. However, these are only minor issues, for the price it's still a real bargain compared to overpriced identical alternatives. The smell mentioned by others is just a slight 'new' smell, not unpleasant and soon fades. The stand is a useful feature (my only suggestion would be the addition of a magnet or velcro pad to stop it flapping around when not in use). Overall I'm very glad I chose this product and would recommend it to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value for money 30 May 2010

Looked at the others, some of which won't be available for weeks (poor management) and cost 3 times as much - as I am going on holiday I wanted some protection for my new goodie. Makes the iPad easier to hold and stops the tendency to slide off the lap ! Looks like a very 'posh' leather folio and the adjustable back is a boon. The thing that has been well thought out is the fact that the front folds easily and compactly to the back when opened. Very pleased with both the case and the budget price as buying the iPad took all my pocket money !

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value 1 Aug 2010

For the money, you can't really fault this product. Perhaps the fit around the iPad is a little loose (it sinks a little bit to far into the sleeve - a problem with one or two iPad cases I've seen) but this was easily cured with a couple of those little stick-on nylon pads on the inside of the bottom of the sleeve to jack the iPod up a bit. This is the only reason it gets four stars instead of five.

This product is a fraction of the price of other iPad cases and it does the job very well. The leather is robust and the prop for standing the iPad up in landscape mode works perfectly. Mine is in constant use and shows no sign of wear so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lupo iPad Case 6 Jun 2010
Will minimise repeating others.

Summary: excellent buy, functional, attractive, robust.

Strong points.

* Exposes buttons and ports covers most of rest.
* The case does not interfere with full use, just leave it in the case.
* Comfortable to carry. Secure feeling.
* Cover works very well as prop/stand in landscape posture if you have a flat surface available.
* Feels substantial without being heavy and bulky. Attractive as such a beast can be, will not attract scorn for your frugalness.
* iPad fits in well, and can easily be removed from case. Could perhaps have a snugger fit, but it is fine as is. Has magnetic latch and a physical snap-on latch when 'closed'.
* Dye does not come off, at least with the modest wipe downs I have given it. Stitching seems fine.

Weak points:

* iPad probably does slide down inside slightly too far (I hadn't noticed until reading this in another review). A couple of stick on plastic pads should correct.

* Could have a snugger fit, but not such that I are anxious about it. When 'open' it slides out, rather than falling out, when held upside down, but only if you are holding it at the edges with both hands - it is difficult to get it to slide out holding upside down with only one hand. However, if kids will be passing/slinging it about when open I would recommend a small rubber pad. With the cover snap closed this is not a danger.

* I may be more tolerant of smells, as I don't recall any unusual odours.

4.0 out of 5 stars NO FAULTS FOUND FOR THE PRICE 24 Sep 2010
I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY HUSBAND'S IPAD, AND I CAN FIND NO FAULT WITH IT , FOR THE PRICE THAT I PAID.
ALL HE NEEDED WAS A STURDY COVER TO TRANSPORT THE IPAD IN , AND AS I HAD LOOKED AT SO MANY COVER AT SUCH INFLATED PRICES, I BOUGHT THIS ONE AND IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE CAN.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value for money.... 28 July 2010
Very quickly: I'd heard terrible things about the official Apple case - quality, price etc - as well as some of its competitors at that price. Took a punt on this one and couldn't be happier: keeps the dust away, nice closing mechanism, well designed stand and a snip at the price. Only criticism would be slight slippage at the bottom when held in portrait but not enough to bother me. I'd rather buy one of these every 6 months then one of the more expensive ones every two years.

Decent case for the money - but not leather at all. Not sure how they can describe it as such, since it's so obviously artificial. Read more
