A simple to use video & audio camera. It has three modes, video with/without audio (depending on your settings), camera (snap shot) and audio (dictaphone type use) I have no use for the latter two personally.

Includes a strong windscreen mount; take other's advice on where mounted, i.e. out of the way of the driver and within the sweep of the windscreen wipers. The camera can hang back off the mount a wee bit so play around until you are happy (Passenger side of the rear view mirror or bottom right corner on the driver's side suited me). There is also a cigar charger (micro USB) that has about 3.5 metres of cable, so you can work it around the dash & windscreen.

The instructions are okay, but a few minutes playing around and you'll work it all out. Simple on/off button and a record/stop button on the back edge. On the LCD panel are Mode switches from video (default at start up) to picture to dictaphone to playback screen. Each mode (less dictaphone) has its own menu / settings (using Menu, Up and Down and record/stop as the "OK"). Like I said, play around to get used to it.

I put a 32GB Class 10 SD card into mine. The class of SD card is important, Class 4 for example is no good for quality video writing, (and this may be where other reviewers have gone wrong - stating they were not satisfied with quality) (I also notice a class 4 is offered by Amazon as part of a bundle!!!!) Class 10 has good read / write speed for video use, so choose your SD card with care.

I have mine set to 1280x720 [HD], which provides 6.5 hours of continuous video with audio recording on a 32GB card. On play back, both on the inbuilt LCD and home PC, I was pleased with the quality offered by this camera (for the price that I paid for it).

OK Firstly I purchased this In car video camera elsewhere(China)
Second I had to purchase a separate micro memory card (Samsung 16 gig class 10)From Amazon).

Ok on to the build quality.
The camera and mounting/suction bracket are really light weight. And the camera seems to be well made.
But the mounting bracket although very adjustable,I have encountered one minor problem.
And this was on the lever that clips the the mount to the windscreen, the centre pin came loose.A dab of super glue should sort this minor problem.

Just remember when attaching the mount to your car windscreen, wipe your glass with a damp clean cloth and then wipe it dry. Then you should not have any problems getting the suction mount to stay attached.
So how does it perform?
Well actually setting the camera up is relatively easy,I just had a cursory glance at Chinlgish Instruction manual.
I have chosen to only use the forward facing video mode, since I doubt very much that any film footage would be any good from my 4x4 rear. And since I am not very photogenic (Some what ugly)

Anyway the on board display is fairly crisp and sharp. Now on to the important video quality.
So first off it displays its video when played back on your PC using it's own X2 software,it is in fish eye mode.
And using said software, well to be honest it is poor. And also very clunky slow etc.
But having said that, you can play back your video in software of your choosing.

I have only tested this in car video in daylight and dusk conditions. Therefore unable to comment on any night driving using this equipment. But I am not expecting great things from it.
So to conclude, for the money that I have invested in this little piece of kit.

Wasn't expecting much but this little camera is brilliant. Playback on the built in screen is ok but when downloaded to PC it is far better than I expected. Having recently been involved in an accident where the other party admitted fault at the time of the accident but changed their story when it came to submitting a claim, I bought this to ensure I had proof of actual events in future. Whilst it isn't always possible to make out number plates - I'd say up to ten feet in front maximum - there shouldn't be a problem being able to clearly identify any vehicles involved in an accident.

The camera records sound so you can add a running commentary or record car registration numbers. There is a built in battery and a very long power cable that will easily go from the centre console, under the dash, up the side of the windscreen and to your camera if you have it mounted near the rear view mirror. It's a shame the camera has to be unscrewed from the windscreen mount as it means you have to remove the holder from the screen each time you want to take the camera down.

The only thing you have to watch out for is the angle you set the camera at in relation to the windscreen. Having it as close to a right angle with the screen as you can get will give best results. I'd try a few places and see which gives the clearest results for you. Dont forget to position it within the sweep of the windscreen wipers too.

To summarise I'd say this is a great piece of kit and well worth its cost. It could save you an awful lot of money if someone tries it on as they did with me.
