I decided to test these batteries to get to know how they should perform out and about. This meant having my 550D sitting beside me shooting HD movies as I worked. The idea was to see how many 4GB (12 minute) chunks I would get per fully charged battery. The slightly old original Canon battery gave me over eight chunks. These replacement batteries gave me just over seven chunks from one and 4.5 chunks from the other. I've written this on each.

Now given that this pair cost only about a sixth of a branded Canon battery, and despite their labelling claiming a capacity 20% higher than the original, I think these represent decent value. I can go out and use them while knowing what to expect of them.

Great for a backup and has saved me on many a times form disaster due to the words "change battery pack now"
Does not last as long as the original but lasts long enough for you to charge the original and keep shooting photos and video

Some trepidation when buying batteries not made by the cameras manufacturer since I have heard stories about poor performance, loss of charge, catching fire and even damage to the camera. However, these replacement batteries seem to be well made and charge in exactly the same way as that supplied with the camera. I am using one for all my current needs and so far it has not caused any problems and seems to last as long as the original. This 2-pack seems to be exceptional good value. Should it fail sometime in the future I will update this review.

I was expecting battery covers as per the photo but none were available.
However, the capacity of the batteries were also greater (1350 mAh) then the photo (1120 mAh). And I am still trying to use up the 1st charge on the 1st of 2 batteries! The greater capacity seems to be making itself felt!
And at £ 5.81 for two batteries is a great deal, even without the battery covers ....
... now, does anyone know where I can get battery covers??

Bought these for my new 600d, in addition to the original battery, to carry around as spares as the original battery is not enough for a full day out shooting in London (combination of casual video and stills). In my experience they held around 80-85% of the original canon battery but considering the price of that one - these are really really good. Plus there are 2 of them!

I bought this as some spare battery packs for my canon 550d ( I use it for primarily filming only) as I did not want to fork out for the expensive ones. And I must say I have ended up buying 4 sets since, they last for a good 4 hour solid filming and are almost 3/4 of the price of the others. Such a good value extra!

Having shopped around I settled on this product and am not disappointed. When I am taking pictures a spare battery is a must,so I need to be sure that I won't be let down at a crucial time. This product has proved to be worth its' weight in gold, and it was well priced with very quick delivery.

In terms of value for money, it's obvious that these are the way to go. If you're worried that they won't work or won't last, don't be. They're fine. They just don't last quite as long as the Canon ones, especially if you're shooting video.
