Are You A Loving Dominant?,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Loving Dominant (Paperback)
This is the question John Warren asks in Chapter 2 of this book and if you're a Dominant, it's a very good question to ask yourself. This book is an excellent introduction to the 'kinky world' some of us live in from time to time. While there are numerous other excellent SM books on the market, John's book covers topics not normally covered in other "introductory SM books, like how to act at a play party, and taking memorable pictures of your own private scenes. Also included are sections on First Aid, "Stalking the Wild Submissive," (very important!) and ways to do scenes that are exciting both for the Dominant and the submissive. I felt the chapter that John's wife, Libby wrote (A Submissive Writes About Submission) gives an excellent insight for Dominants into what (at least for her) submission means and what it's about. This book's second edition is now available on Greenery Press and it's an excellent addition to any kinkster's library, whether they are Dom, sub, or switch.

Kindle Version Topaz Woes,
By
This review is from: The Loving Dominant: New and Improved (Kindle Edition)
Unfortunately the kindle version of this book is in the topaz form (also known as a poor mans pdf). So, no font rescaling, no font changes and generally hard to read. The book contains ten illustrative images and these are of high enough resolution to be quite legible, though one appears to be badly cropped. The large file size is due to the topaz form. If there was a refund option, I'd take it. It's very hard to have any good feelings about a book that has been so badly converted for the kindle. Greenery Press should be brought to task by the authors, as this quick cash in on an electronic form does them no favours.

Mischevious scenes a plenty!!!,

This review is from: The Loving Dominant (Paperback)
This was a really insightful book for both dominants and submissives. It was extremely thorough in terms of safety and consent without being overly tedious on such issues. There is a chapter called "How to make a scene sing" which is written with an air of playfulness and mischief. This certainly dispels the common prejudices about players on the scene, showing that a relationship with a BDSM flavour can be extremely loving (as the title suggests!) and based on respect and trust just like its vanilla counterparts. There was also a useful part about coming out to a vanilla spouse, either as a dominant or a submissive, which may make the process easier. It is written with a high level of sensitivity and reflection. Although he caters mainly for heterosexual relationships, Mr Warren openly admits to this and recommends alternatives for gay and lesbian markets. There is a picture of the author on the back, who seems to ooze delightful wickedness from every pore - rock on Mentor!
