This explosive new drama is set in Dublin's gangland and stars Aidan Gillen (The Wire, Queer as Folk) and Robert Sheehan (Red Riding, Misfits). When a catastrophic event ignites the tensions in a small-time drug gang, family, ffriends and community must live with the impact. Having skipped town when a gun was found in his house a year ago, Darren Treacy (Sheehan) has been lying low in Spain. He's homesick and his brother's release fom prison sucks him back to his old stomping ground for the weekend. But when one of his old gang is killed, suspicion runs rife and thoughts turn to revenge. Darren runs into ex-girlfriend Rosie who he hasn't seen for over a year. He stil loves her, but it's complicated as she now lives with Stumpy (Peter Campion). Ovr and above finding the killer, there's money to be made and soon Darren is back working for gangland boss John-Boy Power (Aidan Gillen). As Darren gets closer to discovering the truth about the killing, tensions rise within the gang. Darren faces difficult decisions about his feelings for Rosie, his future and his loyalties. Can he win the battle without losing the war. RTÉ One's commitment to bold and original home-grown drama continues with this dynamic new four part drama.

5.0 out of 5 stars TV drama at its best! 12 April 2011
This is a stunning piece of television and i urge anyone who is in two minds to just buy it and watch it. It had me gripped - so much so that i watched all 4 episodes back to back in one go. All the cast are fabulous, though if i had to pick a stand out performance it would be Robert Sheehan's. The story has multiple twists that i, for one, did not see coming and was suitably humorous and heart breaking in equal measures. The soundtrack is also brilliant in helping tell the story.

Series 2 is being filmed at present (April 2011) and i look forward to what is still to come...

5.0 out of 5 stars Always leaves you wanting more. 23 Mar 2011
Don't watch this because Robert Sheehan is that guy from the misfits. Watch it because he's a great actor in a great role, and for the other great Irish actors in Love/Hate.

Personally I couldn't get enough. I hear there'll be a season 2. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - must see drama 27 Dec 2012
By Badger
We have just finished watching series 1 of Love/Hate, and we enjoyed it so much that we can't wait to start on the next series.

It is an excellent must see drama that we would highly recommend.

Excellent story and excellent acting, depicting the realities of some people's lives in gangland modern Dublin.
