'Lost is the best and most exciting drama since the X-Files.' - New York Times"

Product Description

There are things no one knows about Dexter Sterling. His friends believe he's just another moneyed Ivy League student. But Dexter is leading two lives - until a fateful trip to Australia exposes the truth. Dexter books the first flight out of Sydney, wanting nothing more than to return home after his deceit is revealed. The plane he boards, however, never reaches its destination. Instead, Oceanic Flight 815 crashes, trapping its 48 survivors on a remote island. Faced with a blank slate, Dexter reinvents himself once again. When tragedy strikes, his carefully constructed farce begins to crumble, and Dexter must trust his fellow castaways with the truth. But Dexter isn't the only one lying. And, he quickly learns that on the island there are many unknowns, but none are deadlier than the secrets of its inhabitants...

Lose Yourself 9 Jan 2006
Format:Paperback
I brought this book out of dedication, being the biggest Lost fan I know. I wasn't expecting much from such a small book but each page of it is engrossing and full of the same twists and turns that the television programme is famous for. It took me about a day to read but it was well worth it!

I was interested to see how far into the series the book would pursue the storyline; and how the characters would play their roles.

I thought overall the book was an easygoing read and the way that the flashbacks had been written were pretty good. I was also able to visualise each character doing and saying the things they did in the book.

I enjoyed this book because it was simple and kept true to the TV series. However, at times I felt that the style of writing was quite simple. Perhaps this book was more suitable for younger readers?

For people who are looking for a quick, easy read. And for all Lost fans.

Secret Liking 21 Jun 2006
Format:Paperback
I too bought this book out of dedication for the show. I wasn't expecting much, but was surprised to find it rather engrossing. Thats strange because the lead character is rather uninteresting, and the book not very well written. The pace however is perfect, structured just like the show.

The shows characters also crop up, byt most of their appearances seem rather perfunctory, unnecessary and badly cobbled together.

But then again, what books can you buy now for under £5? None.
