Bought this set new from another retailer new for £140.

First of all the product description shown on here is incorrect. IT IS NOT DUAL VOLTAGE. It is single voltage which is 12 volts. Dual voltage implies it can be plugged straight into the mains without an adapter and it cannot be. It is 12 volt and needs a transformer which comes with the set.

The TV is typical of today with a modern high gloss black case and could be mistaken for a samsung or lg. It looks nice. Please bear in mind that this set is only £140 new on the high street and as the saying goes 'you only get what you pay for' does not really apply to this set. I believe the it is very good for the money and would have been pleased with it at a higher price. On the same note if it had been £100 I wouldn't expect or want it to be a pile of cr*p. 100 quid is still 100 quid and wouldn't want to waste it. Well definitely not wasted 140 quid here.

I was a little bemused to find tv's being 12 volt with an external adapter but as I purchased this for my caravan it does give me an option to run it off the 12 volt supply. The 12 volt transformer does get a little hot. It also doesn't have a standard scart outlet. Looks to be a bespoke socket with a scart adapter supplied with the set and you plug your standard scart lead into the supplied adapter. Just hope that LOGIK have not gone against the industry standard here by making this just an INPUT socket. Standard scart sockets should be bi-directional as standard.

I did a lot of research for my tv and debated whether to get an all in one or a samsung or lg and use a separate dvd player. When you look at the specs on the other models they are all very similar with regards to contrast ratio, speaker wattage etc and I suspect that maybe some of the well known brands maybe don't produce their own small screen tv's but have them produced by the same companies as the unknown brands. I know for a fact that one well known manufacturer do not make their own smaller screen tv's. After hearing a friend's F & H set I thought the sound was awful. My present tv in the caravan is an old Samsung Syncmaster which has good sound. Please bear in mind when buying any small tv the sound is not going to be brilliant even on the branded names. Check the reviews. They all fall down on the sound although some more than others. The Logik isn't too bad. It has a treble and base to adjust it but I can't tell any difference. It may sound better when it goes on the bracket in the caravan so we will see. In the end it came down to 3 tv's but I was wanting one there and then and if I didn't like it then I could just take it back to the shop, hence buying the LOGIK. I did have a look in one of the supermarkets first as thei LUXOR range looked to be ok but they had completely sold out for christmas.

Setting the TV up was nice and easy and not having a roof aerial in my utility room, only a cheap indoor aerial I was surprised to find a number of digital channels with an excellent picture. A strong point here is the digital tuner. I give that part of the set 5 stars. The picture is excellent and to be honest you don't need full hd at 22", 720 would be enough.

The remote is quite good although the dvd buttons are dual purpose and are quite small at the bottom of the remote. The main buttons for the tv are ok which is what the tv will be used for the most. The EPG is quite simple and easy to read. DVD works ok and was surprised that it goes to x16 speed.

The recording facility of the USB outlet is quite handy. I was expecting it to be like my sky+ but it isn't. What do you expect for 140 quid lol. You can record, pause, fast forward and rewind live tv but it doesn't record constantly like your sky+ but the manual recordings are ok. You can also press pause if watching a programme and then you can watch what you have missed. It's called Timeshift but it's good. You can also programme it to record from the EPG, another good point. You do need your own USB stick to record or pause the tv and it needs to have more than 5mbs write/read speed.

Time will tell how reliable the TV will be but you know these sets are sold in the high street with returns direct to the shop should there be a problem. My guess is they will prove to be most reliable.

Good Points

Easy set up and menu
Very good EPG, simple with set ups for reminder and record
Excellent picture. I cannot fault the screen on this TV and is as good as my 47" LG
Record function
Nice looking
TV/DVD all in one

Not so Good Points

Sound is average. Hope to be able to add some speakers to my sky box in the caravan. Don't let this put you off. Don't think an extra 50 quid for a samsung or lg would give better value.
DVD playback is ok. I would guess quality would be better played through an upscaling dvd player. But then DVD will be about 5% of it's use. DVD is ok, just that quality is not as good as Freeview.
Remote part for DVD could be better like LG or Samsung. TV part of remote is ok though.
TV takes 12 seconds to come from standby. Think this has something to do with energy efficiency.
The blue 'on' light makes too much of a glow for my liking so will be using some tape to cover it.
I don't like the scart adapter lead. LOGIK call it a 'mini scart' and I think this has been used on some Samsungs, Sonys and Bush TV's. A standard scart socket should be the norm. I will be checking if it's bi-directional tomorrow.
No headphone socket.

I think that about covers it. I have been quite critical in my not so good points as it give a true reflection. Most people look at the bad points and then decide not to buy but these are only my personal opinions. All in all for 140 quid it's fantastic, not so good points and all. Main thing is would I buy this set again...YES of course I would. Seems to be one of the best of the cheaper tv's.

Would have been a 5 star rating but I do have a few niggles but scores well on the freeview signal and picture quality. This model was given 3 stars on CNET and those guys are experts. Before you ask I do not work for the well known high street store selling these and am a private consumer.

Update 22nd. January 2012

I took the tv back to the store today. It had developed two intermitant faults which although did not affect the tv much I was concerned over the long term reliability. I found sometimes when playing back programmes recorded using my memory stick the tv would crash with a bit of a pop. This also happened sometimes when formatting the usb stick. It could have been a fault with the memory stick but I didn't have another to check. I would have lived with this fault however.

The second reason I took the tv back was the 'mini scart' connection had a faulty connection. I discovered this as I managed to play the tv through a sound system which improved the sound amazingly. I was very pleased with the sound only to find the left speaker would only come on when I jiggled the special connector which goes into the mini scart socket. The tv does not have a standard scart socket but an adapter lead which converts it to scart. For this reason I returned the tv and decided not to have another. I never did like the fact that it did not have a standard scart socket but it was only a small niggle.

It's a big shame about these faults. If the tv had a headphone socket I might never have known about the faulty scart connection. I also didn't like the fact that I couldn't find out anything about LOGIK. They may be made by a brand name for the high street stores but it would give me some confidence if I knew it was an LG or Samsung panel etc. After googling various qestions about LOGIK it appears to be a mystery as to who actually makes them or who's panel is used. I was also unable to find a sky remote code for the TV and even purchased the latest Revision 9 remote. I tried all the Samsung and LG codes but couldn't get it to work. Nouck from SKY or the retailer. It's about time all manufacturers put the sky remote code in the manual and perhaps on the box of the tv so potential buyers would know before they bought the tv that you could at least use your sky remote to operate the volume and power switch. This maybe a small complaint but I purchased the tv to use in our dining room but also to take with us in our touring caravan and last time we went away I forgot the old tv remote. No great problem as the sky remote left in the caravn works my old tv.

To sum up. It's a shame about the LOGIK. Cracking picture and more features than the brand names and am sad to see it go. I was offered a replacement but have decided to buy an LG or Samsung and use a separate DVD player and lose the PVR function. By co-incidence when I returned my set today someone else was picking up the identical set which had just come back from repair.
