I was a little wary of this product after some of the mixed reviews it got. Sure it's a slightly different silver, and it's plastic rather than brushed aluminium, but it works just fine.
It sits alongside your keyboard and the connector works great, so it looks like one long keyboard. Not only is it good to have a numeric keypad back, but the Delete ket function is great to (I really missed this), and Home and End keys too!
All in all, I would recommend this to anyone not wanting to buy the wired Mac keyboard who needs a numeric keypad.

First of all, get over the fact that it's plastic. This seems to come as a disappointment to some people because it looks like aluminium to match the Apple wireless keyboard. It does indeed match it quite well, if not perfectly. It works fine once you've paired it with your Mac - I experienced none of the problems described by other reviewers. It will go to sleep if not used (most useful for extending battery life) but wakes up in a couple of seconds. The manual is helpful and clear. It fits nicely onto the end of your Apple keyboard with the connector supplied and it has a clever through switch if you wish to switch off your Apple keyboard whilst it's attached. The overall feel and construction is obviously down to a price, but if you want a matching keypad, Apple don't do one do they?

Not really essential unless you are determined to type numbers using the keypad as opposed to the row at the top. I bought this to use the * key (without having to press shift) as when using Logic it is the quick key for record - which when you're holding a guitar makes it very awkward to use shift & 8.
Sadly for some reason the function does not work as a quick command within logic, but will still type * when pressed in any text editor (including the notes function within logic)
Haven't tried short cuts with other programs, but I couldn't get any to work for logic.
Other than that it works fine as far as I can tell.
