As there is virtually no information on the sleeve or discs (or anywhere else that I can find), bear in mind that this review is based on a single close listen and my best guesses. I am neither a Gram Parsons scholar nor self-professed audiophile so take this review with a grain of salt. I bought this on spec. as I AM a fan of his work and there is precious little material out there. Although I have to disagree with the loquacious Georges Vaan Roey that this is "a disaster!!!", it is certainly a problematic release that may well mostly appeal to Gram fanatics.

Disc One: After a single close listen and comparison, this would seem to be an 'expurgated' version of the Sierra Records release, GRAM PARSONS & THE FALLEN ANGLES LIVE 1973. It's a radio studio performance from 1973 so the sound quality is quite good. The track order has been changed, 2 tracks have been left off (including the encore medley of Bony Moronie/Forty Days/Almost Grown) and all the between song patter has been removed. If you don't already have the previous release & can live without the missing songs & talk, this is a quite acceptable substitute.

Disc Two: Amazon says this consists of "demos & outtakes" while the slipcase credits it as a "Live Rehearsal". It sounds to me like it may be some of both. It's decidedly low-fi throughout with Gram's voice being often over-powered by the instruments. On many of the tracks you can hear people talking throughout the performance. On some of the tracks there is a strong fiddle performance which makes me think these are rehearsals for the GP album (with Byron Berline on fiddle). The first track is a 9 minute rough run through of A Song For You while later there is a 20 second snippet of the same song.

1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading and unessential 25 July 2014
By Ron B.

Cd one is indeed an abridged version of the well known radioshow. Now..... Why should you buy a incomplete version when a better cd is available? The second disc is a rerelease of "American Cosmic Music". Poor fidelity and not that spectacular, unless you want - like me - every note from Gram. The packaging and the information of Amazon are completely misleading. Waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Disaster - Not Even That Good!!! 7 Sep 2014
• Georges Vaan Roey got it nearly correct by saying “a disaster” – he just made one mistake, by giving it one star – one too many if you ask me – I am a complete Gram nut, but I I have to go totally with Ron B, who said, “The packaging and the information of Amazon are completely misleading. Waste of money.” Spot on, Ron!!! (Unfortunately zero stars seems impossible to list, hence my one star)
