A Little Cracker,
By
This review is from: LINDY SPDIF Digital to Analogue Stereo Audio Converter (Electronics)
Like a previous reviewer I have a new Samsung television with an excellent picture, but terrible sound. There is not enough room in the cabinet for a decent sized speaker. There only being an optical sound output on the television, I connected my Denon amp to the sound output from my Free Sat box. Excellent quality sound, but completely out of sync with the picture. I did a a search in Amazon for a converter from digital sound to analogue sound and was relieved to find this "Little Cracker". It has a mains adaptor, which I connect to the slave socket in the back of the amplifier, so that it switches on and off as the amplifire is switched on and off. I purchased the required connecting cables, connected up and it was up and running in no time. The sound quality is still excellent and lips are in perfect sync with the picture. A highly recommended piece of kit. Hope my review helps.

Lindy 70408 Digital to Analogue Converter,

This review is from: LINDY SPDIF Digital to Analogue Stereo Audio Converter (Electronics)
Though television sound has improved tremendously it still doesn't compare with Hi Fi. Up to the coming of digital television it was no trouble to run a couple of phono leads to my analogue amplifier in order to enjoy a better quality of sound. After the analogue switch-off I could no longer do this as my replacement telly only has an optical digital output and was incompatible with the analogue input of my Pioneer amp. The only solution seemed to be a new digital amp but the cost was prohibitive. Then I discovered Lindy on Amazon and their Digital to Analogue Converter. This small device weighing only 30 grams allows you to input digital audio through either a co-axial or optical digital cable and output stereo analogue audio. A switch is provided to to let you chooses between inputs. A power supply is included. The device is connected to the television via a digital optical cable (not included) and output-ed through left and right phono cables to the amplifier. An elegant solution and one which allows you to match the high quality of modern television pictures with an equally high quality sound.

I bought this for my farther in law to allow the use of his wireless headphones on a new TV. This gizmo took the digital audio outputs and converted them down to Sterio Left and Right. It only took 2 min to set up and worked first time.Highly recomended.
