I love the sunshine and for a more than a few years now, from around late October until the end of January, I've found myself suffering from the effects of SAD. Awkward sleep patterns, trouble waking up in the morning and a general lack of motivation. For around three months a year I'm just not myself.
Having said that, for almost three years, I've been looking at various lights and just couldn't justify spending £150-200 to take a chance on what is essentially, still just a light. When I saw this product producing the recommended 10,000 lux for around £55, I figured it was time to give it a pop.(ended up buying a used one for £35)
It arrived 5 days later, and I plugged it in the moment the sun went down... WOW! It really is bright, I could instantly see how this would work. I've had it for around three weeks, and the moment I walk in the door each day, my light is switched on.
If money's no issue, I would advise to buy one of those more expensive ones, as this one has a slight high-frequency flicker which you notice when you first turn it on or get really close. I tend to move it a little further away for twice as long... But anything else I've seen in this price range doesn't come close to the 10,000 lux which this one produces.
I would recommend this to anybody who is considering trying this type of therapy for the first time and is cautious of spending £150 on a light.
