Product Description

What on earth would make someone decide to put their whole life up for sale… on eBay?

When Ian Usher decided that it was time to leave the past behind and move on to the next chapter of his life, that is exactly what he did. The results were surprising, entertaining and challenging.

However, the auction was only the beginning of the adventure. What does someone do when they have sold their life? Well, just about anything they like really!

Armed with a list of 100 lifetime goals, and a self-imposed timeframe of 100 weeks, Ian embarked on what could truly be described as the journey of a lifetime – a global adventure spanning six continents, two years, and almost every emotion.

From the amazing highs of achievement, happiness and love, to the terrible lows of disappointment, loneliness and despair, come along and enjoy the rollercoaster ride of life, as experienced by one traveller who is simply looking for a new start.

5.0 out of 5 stars An inspiring detailed adventure 6 Aug 2012
By Kazles
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
What a wonderful, honest and emotional account of a life turned completely upside down. It's very easy to read and packed full of all the adventures experienced as well as important lessons learned and friendships formed. The one thing that I loved most about it was that everything didn't go according to plan, as it's so easy to read a book like this and think "that's ok for him", yet it was entirely down to earth about the struggles and hardships of actually coming up with other ways to achieve goals and making the most of experiences that are less than perfect. Having said that, some were perfect and it was great to read about those too. Really loved this book written by a local guy so many references to places that I know. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars More than a travelogue 7 May 2012
By Nomoss
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well worth a read. Ian Usher goes beyond recounting taxi mugging in Iceland and inflexible jobsworth airline reps, to give us an inkling of the reality of a life on the road, 'plane, railway, boat, taxi... ( It was refreshing to read of the generosity of the taxi driver who put him up for the night in time of need - the Icelandic taxi driver who charged $100 for 43 kilometres should read this and hang his/her head in shame).

I was touched by the unstinting generosity of the many people that Ian met and the glimpses he gives us of their lives. His occasional opening of his heart to the reader, sharing deep sorrows and regrets, together with his continued joy at the kindness, helpfulness and hospitality he received paints the picture of an ordinary man who has got right up, dusted himself off and started over again - and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read for travel & goal ideas 2 Aug 2012
By PM1984
Format:Paperback
This book is a great read. It gives great descriptions about his life, about how his world fell apart and what he did next. Very insightful.

The goals section is incredible though, very detailed descriptions on every goal make you feel like you're there with him. It gives some great ideas on goals to do in the future!

Fantastic book, I spoke to Ian a lot during his travels anyway, being his godson and all, but the book tells things that he never said in person! It s a fantastically written book, that flows, and allows the audience to involve themselves in the emotions and joys that Ian experienced over his time, and sets us up for what he is striving to achieve! Fabulous!
