I purchased this monitor after many hours of research, due to returning my Samsung SM2233rz which I was rather disappointed with - and wow what a difference! I can now turn the depth up on all the games I play and ghosting is nowhere near as apparent, and everything looks lovely in the 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Regarding non-3D performance, I think the Samsung had slightly better clarity, but it's difficult to compare the two given their different native resolutions. The only downside I can think of would be the lack of hardware buttons, specifically for power. Makes it extremely difficult to turn off in the dark.

Unfortunately you still get some ghosting in 3D, but this is a limitation of the technology at this time rather than a fault of the monitor, and is the only reason I can't give it 5 stars.

Even when not using the 3D the picture quality is just amazing. Still can't belive how good the price was. Thumbs up

I was horrified when my Samsung bricked as it cost me £550 some years ago.

This LG more than made up for it however - the technology for buck has really come on fast.

I'm amazed at the quality and the resolution, it's brought my games to life when I thought they were good before!

At time of writing this is by far the most affordable 120Hz monitor available. Although image quality can vary slightly between individual units the LG seems to have an edge over much more expensive models such as the BenQ XL2410T and even disregarding the 120Hz capabilities this is a well-rounded monitor. Compared to the BenQ colours are better balanced, gradients are smoother with less noticeable dithering and the presets are much better thought-out. Contrast and screen uniformity is generally superior, too. The best part about the W2363D for many people is the 120Hz refesh rate - the experience when gaming at 100fps+ is exceptionally smooth. Unlike the aforementioned XL2410T and to a much lesser extent the glossy ASUS VG236H you don't get nasty overdrive trailing to hamper the experience, either. Input lag with the 'thru mode' enabled is also exceptionally low, although this was never a weakness with the BenQ.

I looked around at 3D monitors for a long time before I settled on this one; it being near half the price of other models without any considerable differences. I found it somewhat annoying to assemble, and there did not seem to be any included instructions on how to secure the panel to its base (I later found them on the underside of the cardboard box itself, though I fail to see why this was considered a sensible location for assembly instructions). As the title suggests however, the monitor works really well - films and games look great in 1920 x 1080 resolution, and having tried out the Nvidia 3D vision effect, I cannot fault the monitors performance in that respect either.

On the other hand I find the angle adjustment to be fairly hit and miss, and I spent a good 15 minutes trying to enable "thru mode" as the button simply refused to work. Once I eventually did manage to enable thru mode however, it did its job well and removed any and all ghosting effects in my games, heightening the experience massively. I had worried that it's auto-dimming feature for 3D would have made 3D gaming a bit dim when coupled with the dimming effect of the glasses themselves. I was pleasantly surprised though, as objects that are too bright actually appear twice in 3D because they shine through the shutters and I was glad for the dimming effect after all.

As other reviews on this site suggest, the buttons are impossible to see and could really do with some backlighting. However, in their infinite wisdom LG decided that they would rather illuminate a completely useless section of plastic just below the buttons instead. I simply fail to see why this was necessary - whilst I had some fun making it synch to my music for a while, after a few minutes of use this feature had been turned off and will likely remain so for the product's lifetime. This is of course not a big deal, and given the performance of the screen itself, the product still scores 4 stars in my books.

After downloading the directx 11 & hi res texture pack for crysis 2 my old 19" monitor simply couldn't cope, the screen blur when moving was really disconcerting. As my old monitor had a pretty good 2m/s response time it was obvious that the monitors 60hz refresh rate was the problem and a 120hz monitor was needed. So after a bit of research on specs and price I decided on the LG.
After unboxing and turning on my pc the monitors only real flaw soon becomes apparent; trying to find the power and menu buttons and when you have found them trying to make them work! I read other reviews commenting on how badly designed they were but thought naaah they can't be that bad.....errr...yes they are (I eventually had to use a torch to find them) however after setting the display to your preference you'll probably never need use them again,so only a minor issue.
At 1920x1080 and 120hz the graphics on the desktop screen are very favourable with no apparent bleeding at the edges, the clarity is good, however most of my time on the pc is spent gaming and that is where this monitor comes into its own. Titles such as Call of duty,Shogun 2,IL2 Cliffs of Dover,Fallout 3, Crysis 2 now run like a charm with no blurring, on top of that the vibrancy of the images rendered is simply stunning, almost lifelike, it certainly gives you a feeling of immersion which is what gaming is all about. If you are serious about gaming I couldn't recommend this product highly enough.
