Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This LG printer is a very compact printer, not much bigger than a smartphone, that uses 3"x 2" Zero Ink (Zink) photo paper. It is aimed squarely at smartphone users with either iOS or Android. Take it out the box, add the included paper (10 sheets) and turn on. Pair it with your smartphone via bluetooth, download the LG App and you can print 3" x 2" photos from your smartphone.

On the plus side it is genuinely portable with inbuilt battery and charges using an included mini USB charger, it is incredibly easy to set up and use, and it requires no ink. The prints seem quite robust and can cope with a toddler handling them right away without smudging.

The printer does seem to have some fairly major drawbacks though. It is expensive at over £100 and the paper from LG is about 34p per sheet. There is generic Zink paper available at about 15p a sheet but I have yet to test it with the printer. The photos are very small, unless you have seen a 3 x 2 print, measure one out so you can see the size before you buy. All of these faults are clear before you buy the printer and I could overlook all of them. What drops this printers score is the print quality. All the photos I printed had a slight Instagram look about them, colours were dull and all the photos had a graining across them. This issue is exacerbated by the small print size that necessitates close inspection.

If you want a small photo printer and don't need it to be completely portable get the excellent Canon Selphy CP900. If you need ultimate portability this could be for you but don't expect great print quality.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I can only really give this item 3 stars - purely because of price. I used to own a similar item made by Polaroid, called The Pogo which was fun, looked just as good, used the same paper, was excellent build quality but cost only £20.

Compared side by side, the only real difference between the two printers is the huge difference in price. However, putting that aside how does the printer measure up?

Good, is the answer, I guess. It's well made, looks cool, works as you want it to and is a fun little item to own. The picture print quality is good - not great - but good and can be mounted thanks to their sticky backs.

But it's a novelty item. At £20 the Polaroid Pogo was worth every penny but I wouldn't spend £100 on an novelty it'd like this. Wait for the price drop then buy one. The Pogo originally came out at about £120 but were soon being sold for under £20 - I expect the LG version will soon follow in it's footsteps.

The great thing here is the idea that you can have a pocket printer and it uses zero ink to print small photographs. Fairly straight-forward instructions and esay to set up.

What's not so great is the quality of the photos and there size. If you are to be exited with a 2" x 3" photo from a vibrant 5" screen, the quality should be amazing! May be for the sake of portability. I find that, it's acceptable if you print portraits like a passport size photo, because a full blown photo of a group with a lot of detail will not look better on a 2"x 3" photo than it was on a 5" full HD screen. The colors are not vibrant, may be because it's Inkless technology. To me, it also does not offer value for money. A pack of 30 2x3 inch photo paper for the printer costs £10.45, while you could get 50 sheets of A4 Gloss photo paper! Even if ink is not needed, the paper and the printer combine to make this an expensive portable device. Unless one needs ultra portability, there are many portable printers that could do much better with recuced running costs.

It's geeky!
If you have a high-end smartphone (such as HTC one, Xperia Z, Galaxy s3/4, Lumia 925) that has NFC (Near Field Communication), you will enjoy printing by just tapping the the back of your phone on the NFC area (top of printer) of the printer! NFC uses bluetooth but usually does not require passcodes like 'plain' bluetooth. I printed via NFC and it was fast and interesting and you do not have to type the pairing code each time you print.

It will really depend on your needs. If ultra portability is desired and you do not mind the size and avarage quality, then this will do, if on the other hand, you need relatively big size quality photos, then look a the slightly larger portable printers that can do 4x6 inch or bigger.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I should preface this review by saying that I already have a Polaroid Pogo printer so am familiar with both how these zink gadgets work and the image quality you get from them. I loved my Pogo which was an order of magnitude smaller than any other printer on the market when it was released, and always worked very well. The images did have quite a grainy quality, but this gave them a bit of an arty edge, and if you trawl the web you'll see a lot of galleries of Pogo images by cool art student types who really took to the medium.

When I saw this LG printer offered on Amazon I was thus quite excited, firstly to see whether the dimensions had been further reduced to give something that was truly pocket-sized and secondly, to find out how the image quality compared with the Pogo. In terms of the former I can confirm that the printer is uber-teeny - smaller even than a postcard in terms of footprint, but no smaller than the Pogo which preceeded it. It's attractively styled, with clean rounded corners and a textured top. I got the silver but loved the look of the the 70s orange trimmed one too. The instructions are well written in a reasonably sized font and diagrams all very clear. There are languages other than English included in the booklet but happily it's not a yellow pages sized paper wasting exercise. In terms of image quality, I think there is a clear improvement over the Pogo, with a much less grainy look and far truer colour reproduction, and I was really quite impressed.

It's easy to use - paper slots in the end, and all you do is turn on the charged printer and wait for it to pair with your device. I couldn't use my iphone as the ios is out of date, instead opting for the Bluetooth function on my laptop.
