Excellent product 11 Dec 2011
By Alex
I have had this microwave for about 4 months now and I haven't experienced any problem with it. It's very easy to use and has many functions. Once you easily install the very solid turntable inside the microwave all you have to do to set it up is put a a cup with 350ml of water and press start, which will warm up the water for 30s.

It has a clock which is also simple to set up. It has a child lock which stops the children from pressing the buttons, an option which I found extremely useful with my curious toddlers.

You can simply heat food at full power by pressing start and each time you press start it increases the time by 30s if you wanted to be more precise you could turn the dial instead which increases the time by 10s.

I haven't used all the preset programs but they are as follows: Jacket Potato, Fresh Vegetable, Frozen Vegetable, Rice/Pasta.

There is also a defrost option which I have used but I haven't yet mastered properly but that's my own fault as I haven't found the time to read the instruction booklet properly.

You also have the option to choose what temperature you cook your food on which helps in cooking the food gently & throughly rather than just the outside. The microwave warns you with an audible beep when it has completed the program.

It's very very easy to clean .. NO MORE CORNERS .. which store all the dirt in the crannies! The dome shape makes it incredibly easy to clean I have always found cleaning the microwave so annoying but not anymore. a quick wipe does it!

Overall the microwave performs well, it's powerful, it has many functions, it's easy to clean and it looks good in the kitchen.

It has plenty of space for my big plates and it meets all my family needs very well.

Excellent buy very very happy. I got mine from another retailer for roughly £119.

Having been a regular user of microwaves for many a long year, I know well their foibles. LG was, I thought, a brand I could trust (having previously been a huge fan of Sharp's MW and combi ovens). The door handle seemed robust enough; sound enough steel casing. What sold it to me was the smaller size of the overall product without compromising the interior space.

Disappointing then that, still within guarantee, the mechatronics stopped working. Returned to LG (after many phone calls and much deliberation about dispatch!) and replaced by another, with the promise that this one would work better - not so! Having had a Sharp combi for 10+ years, I consider myself a careful, but regular, user of such ovens (buttons not bashed; knobs turned with care; doors closed carefully etc). Imagine my surprise when the turntable suddenly cracks during use (LG blamed me for it stating it was 'impossible to break the LG turntable' - huh?).

Some 2 months later the mechatronics packed up - again! The electrical engineer in me identified that it was faulty manufacture: circuits and wiring are easily put out of alignment so, when the door appears to close correctly, it does not and the product either does not work OR, worse still, microwaves can escape - oh dear!

After 16 months with this lousy product and endless arguments with LG - passed from pillar to post with no-one taking responsibility for properly handling my complaints - I gave up and bought another new SHARP oven (door handle has improved!).

I wouldn't recommend LG to anyone for these ovens.

Just what we needed 19 Mar 2012
By Liz
After deciding to replace old microwave I read lots of reviews on several sites and decided this one was best for us - plenty of internal space for large plates, and can even fit a 4 pints of milk to defrost etc. Curved lining makes it much easier to clean and despite not using many of the functions yet we're very happy with the microwave so far! Speedy delivery as expected too - brilliant!
