Having been a regular user of microwaves for many a long year, I know well their foibles. LG was, I thought, a brand I could trust (having previously been a huge fan of Sharp's MW and combi ovens). The door handle seemed robust enough; sound enough steel casing. What sold it to me was the smaller size of the overall product without compromising the interior space.
Disappointing then that, still within guarantee, the mechatronics stopped working. Returned to LG (after many phone calls and much deliberation about dispatch!) and replaced by another, with the promise that this one would work better - not so! Having had a Sharp combi for 10+ years, I consider myself a careful, but regular, user of such ovens (buttons not bashed; knobs turned with care; doors closed carefully etc). Imagine my surprise when the turntable suddenly cracks during use (LG blamed me for it stating it was 'impossible to break the LG turntable' - huh?).
Some 2 months later the mechatronics packed up - again! The electrical engineer in me identified that it was faulty manufacture: circuits and wiring are easily put out of alignment so, when the door appears to close correctly, it does not and the product either does not work OR, worse still, microwaves can escape - oh dear!
After 16 months with this lousy product and endless arguments with LG - passed from pillar to post with no-one taking responsibility for properly handling my complaints - I gave up and bought another new SHARP oven (door handle has improved!).
I wouldn't recommend LG to anyone for these ovens.
