I bought this TV/monitor as I wanted to change my PC setup to dual-monitor and be able to essentially have it the focal point of my media centre, and I'm happy to say, this monitor ticks all the boxes.
I'd previously bought another model of this monitor - the M2362DP, and was pleased enough with that, but wanted a wider array of connections. This monitor more than satisfies all my needs, as it has 2 HDMI ports, a DVI port (which although not everyone's first choice, I was adamant on having), a TV antenna with built-in Freeview and Full 1080p HD. I was also very keen to have SCART sockets, even though they're becoming "old hat", so I could still hook up a VHS if needed, which is another reason why this monitor fits the bill.
The monitor also has a USB port so pictures, music and video can be viewed from a pen drive or external hard drive. I haven't used this feature much, partly due to the fact that the USB is awkwardly situated on the back panel, whereas it might have been better situated next to the HDMI port on the side of the monitor for the sake of easy access. However, the auto-detect feature and file explorer function is pretty easy to use. I've only tried briefly to get .avi files to work by using the USB port, but haven't had much luck - something I probably need to look further into.
I'm using one of the HDMI ports for an Xbox 360, and the DVI is connected to my PC and I have no complaints at all with the sound or picture quality. Graphics are crisp and clear and the audio quality is excellent. I've seen other reviews that suggest the M2362 family can have tinny sound, but this has not been my experience.
The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is the Freeview picture quality. It seems to be fairly pixelated and not very sharp, moreso when moving away from the terrestrial channels. The M2362DP I have running alongside seems to have much better picture quality in this regard. However, when I plugged a Freeview HD box into the TV, I was instantly blown away by how sharp and vibrant the picture became, so while the in-built tuner may not be the best, the screen is definitely up to the challenge of 1080p HD output.
Due to me having the two monitors set up side-by-side, I don't really need to rely on the remote as I'm always within reaching distance of the screen. This is fortunate as both the M2362DP and M2362D-PC operate on the same frequency, so whatever I press for one, happens on both screens unless I do some clever positioning! My only real complaint about this is the touch-sensitive power button on the monitor bezel does seem to be a bit temperamental: sometimes I only need to give it a light touch, other times I really have to push hard to get the monitor to turn on or off. I've also found it has a very definite area which you have to press, which can result in some frustrating guesswork. By comparison, the M2362DP is extremely responsive and I barely have to exert any pressure on the button to get it to work across a fairly generous area surrounding the power icon. I'm not sure if this is specific to the actual item I've bought, or a more common issue for this particular model.
To sum up: PROS - Multiple options for connectivity, great HD picture and sound, good price
CONS - Sometimes unresponsive power button on the bezel, in-built Freeview picture quailty is not so good
All in all, if you need an all-round TV/monitor that leaves options open for various functions, then this a decent TV/monitor at a very reasonable price.
