Product Description

MPN: GWL227HSYA - The World's First American Fridge Freezer With Ice & Water That Doesn't Need A Water Connection!

Manufacturer's Description

Plumbing Free! Install Anywhere! Our plumbing free fridges have self sufficient plumbing systems - not only can you install your fridge anywhere with a plug socket, but there are no unsightly hoses and no need to replace the filter. Just fill the fitted container with fresh water to generate crisp water and ice.

The Ice and Water Dispenser is extra tall at 30.5cm. With an easy-access water tap, slide-out pitcher rest, and dual water activation, this dispenser makes it easy to fill containers of all shapes and sizes with filtered ice and water.

At LG, we pride ourselves on thinking outside the box - the icebox, that is. Unlike conventional refrigerators where the ice maker is inside the freezer, we relocated ours to the door, and in doing so, increased freezer space by 10% and created 2 extra storage shelves.

Conventional storage drawers are notorious for enabling moisture build-up, so LG created a unique, lattice-type sheet called a Moisture Balance Crisper that prevents moisture accumulation by maintaining it at a constant, optimum level. We also placed vents on every shelf to distribute air more evenly, all ensuring fruits and vegetables stay fresh longer.

I cant recommend this product enough. Its great with the no figertips marks its stylish and compact and surprisingly holds more than i anticipated. The fact that it does not have a water supply but still have all the functions of having a tap and ice is a brilliant invention.

We really love this fridge/freezer. It looks good and we're all drinking a lot more water. Haven't got any negative points so far. The amazon price was vastly lower than any other we saw. We have used amazon frequently before but was nervous with such a big item. The service was fast and to the usual amazon high standard and the home delivery network were excellent.

We bought this over 7 months ago but I waited, as I usually do, to test the medium term reliability of a white goods item.

This LG fridge has been fantastic. The ice making function, without the need for plumbing, is the ace. I didn't want to have to plumb it in if my wife decided to relocate it, and it's just one of those items that works exactly as it should do once you've removed the (ample) packaging.

The delivery guys weren't very happy about having to bring it into the house, complaining that they weren't meant to for some reason - but a little gentle persuasion from the carpet fitters that were at our house at the time did the trick. They helped them.

The finish is nice, the controls work well (for touch controls) and all in all I'd probably say it's one of the best appliance purchases we've ever made. Highly recommended.

I have an LG 2 door, SXS fridge/freezer. It's big, it's beautiful but it failed twice in 2 years! It worked for 10 months then the temperature probe failed. It was still on guarantee/warranty so I got a new freebie probe plus free labour. New sensor lasted one year. As it's now out of guarantee/warranty, I paid-up. It took 1 week for LG to reach us, weekend, public holiday, busy etc. but that's NOT the point, The point is one expects a fridge to last 15, 20 or more years, as all neighbours and our previous ones did. Sensor is a simple component, BUT it is the 'go/no go' item for the fridsge. If the circuit in the small, single, thermo-whatever component of the sensor opens, that signal shuts off the fridge. The tech. didn't know why it would fail/open circuit, nor its name! These sensors are made in Thailand, not by LG, but come from a 'supplier' according to tech. The new sensor looks identical to the first one, so it may be that LG is accepting these failure-prone sensors without changing/upgrading etc. That would be 1 sensor a year, or less if one is unlucky,. It's only guaranteed for 3 months. LG seemed to have plenty of sensors in store! Maybe I'll scour the net for sensors and keep one spare to fit myself now I've seen it done twice. Maybe LG will send me a new sensor for spare? I will never buy an LG fridge again. You wanna buy an LG fridge? Go for it, but don't forget I warned you..

This is simply the best Fridge/Freezer ever. Works like a dream, looks classy, doesn't require plumbing in so can be placed anywhere. Ice cold water and Ice on tap. Awesome. Great service also from seller.

This fridge is great. Had it 6 months now and it still looks brand new. Wish i'd got one years ago. Only two negatives - the first one arrived had a bash in the side. I would've taken it for some money off but that wasn't acceptable to amazon. Had to wait a while on replacement. Never mind. Other negative was the water tube froze up and the dispenser wouldn't work. Disconnected the tube at the bottom and put a hairdryer up it for 5 mins. Job sorted. I had to take the doors off to get it in the house but that was expected as i'd taken the (seemingly obvious) step of actually getting a measuring tape out first. It was a 5 min job to take doors off. Some people are making it out to be really awkward but i didn't find that at all. The other thing i didn't realise (until 2 of us had physically carried it into the house) was that it is on castor wheels......oops.

Wouldve been 5* apart from the forementioned. Still a great fridge though.

This is a fantastic fridge, but give the choice I would choose again. This is nothing to do with the fridge itself which is perfect, but the water/ice despenser is just a gimmick. Do i need it? No! Do I use it? No! But unfortunately it takes up quite a large amount of space in the freezer. This in turn means that the rather large exterior is not giving you the beniefit inside.

Otherwise brilliant!

Important note - measure the width of your front door, hallway and any other passage to the final resting place. The fridge wouldn't fit through the front door. The delivery guys deliver, and nothing else. When we found out the unit wouldn't pass they said the doors needed to be removed and before I could do this, I had to sign and accept delivery. Once I signed they left.

Luckily I had a mate over that day, and even more luckily it wasn't raining
