3.0 out of 5 stars Competent Android smartphone 12 July 2010
The LG GW620 Eve phone came as a free upgrade from T-Mobile; my previous phones have almost exclusively been Windows Mobile devices, so changing to Android was something I welcomed with some trepidation.

In fact the first device I received had to be returned as the touchscreen decided to give up after a couple of days.

However I persevered with the replacement, and I'm glad I did. The touchscreen is responsive, the hardware keyboard is fit for purpose and I can use the excellent Android Facebook, Twitter and Wordpress apps to go about my online life while away from the PC.

Phone calls are clear and texting is fast and easy. The device is also WiFi and Bluetooth enabled (the latter a rarity these days) and suitable for a good many Android games (although the lack of a trackball can make some games useless).

All in all, a decent phone. Not the best by any means, but as a friendly, social media aware device it is perfect.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer BEWARE Phone 25 Mar 2011
I got this phone on contract and to be honest as a day to day phone its ok. keypad is small but good as you can type quickly once used to it. The problem with this....and there are a few but the biggest is that LG dont register the phone anymore. You wont find it on their site so forget updates, the android market is old firmware so you wont get the latest apps and the phone loves todo its own thing whenever it wants.

Wish I waited now.

shame LG left it out in the cold.... seriously go to LG mobile site and try to find a GW620.

3/5 for phone
0/5 for product support

1.0 out of 5 stars Battery Life ruins the advantages 12 Jan 2011
Having a working keyboard is wonderful. Having a phone that cannot be upgraded to Android 2.1 or higher is irritating.

Have a battery whose life only extends from 4 to 8 hours if you don't use it makes it pointless and incredibly frustrating.

I had the touch screen replaced under warranty when it stopped working and replacement is working fine.

I had a battery replaced under warranty which has extended use slightly but it will not last 18 hours without charging, even if you don't touch it.

2.0 out of 5 stars What's Going On With This Phone!! 17 Dec 2010
Very disappointed with the LG GW620. The touch screen does not want to work half of the time, especially annoying when an important call is coming through and you cannot accept it. The charge can't make up it's mind whether it's been fully charged or just had a quick five minutes, extremely annoying when you have just stepped off the train and need to contact people to let them know you have arrived at your destination. The qwerty keypad for texting and such refuses to work at various points too, plus the buttons on the keypad crack easily after a bit of use. Also had trouble downloading applications and sending information via Bluetooth. I have found the only thing it has going for it is perhaps the way it looks, sleak and stylish. Overall not really the phone I was expecting when I purchased it and sometimes I just really want to jump up and down on the crazy thing.
