LG Electronics - LG M2762D - 27'' FLATRON LCD TV - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV 1080p

The unit arrived well packaged and looks very good out of the box with its tear-drop shaped blue Power LED and the slim black glossy frame (well, obviously a question of taste). Very easy to set up, didn't even have to bother the read the manual, it does all by itself, menus are rather self-explanatory. The built in tuner picks up Freeview channels, analogue channels and digitally broadcasted radio stations. I use it connected to a roof antenna and have absolutely no problems: all Freeview channels with prefect reception. If you want to, it is also easily wall-mountable for creating plenty of desk top space.

The sound quality is OK for watching the news, but somewhat tinny with little bass available (did not expect more from a 27'' body 7 cm deep, though). So if you plan to use it for gaming or watching Blue Ray / DVD movies, definitively invest in an external audio system! I purchased it for it's dual function abilities and have connected it to my home stereo, so I'm really happy with it.

I don't normally write reviews but in researching this product I couldn't find whether you could connect to an external Hi-Fi set up. This I felt was important as most of the reviews slated the poor sound quality. It IS poor, much worse than the Sony CRT Triniton it replaced. Everything else is fine and it's a pity LG didn't add RCA-Phono Audio outputs. I contacted LG but they were no help. I took a gamble as everything else looked good on the spec.
However don't despair. Pins 1 & 3 on Scart AV2 ARE audio output. To use this SCART as an input also (so you don't waste it), you need a split type lead available from RS Components or Maplin.You can then use your external Hi Fi and some other input at the same time. The HDMI ports don't see this sound unfortunately, so you'd have to use the optical output to either a Hi-Fi with optical input or a converter (About £40 from Amazon) to analogue Hi-Fi. So all in all I'm very happy with it. It looks better than any other I looked at, and with a very thin outer frame sports a 27" picture in a 26" wide case. Contrary to what reports say it does have 2 HDMI ports (one's on the side) and it also has a headphone socket (again on the side) It's fine on analogue and Digital. I haven't tried it with a PC as I bought it as a TV but no doubt that's useful. (I HAVE DONE NOW & IT'S FINE) I found it very easy to set up and as of yet have not had to use the manual. I wish Manufacturers would not assume everybody has a PC!

Monitor is awesome. Using an external sound system. Though speaker quality on the monitor is not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Monitor is extremely easy to setup, bought this to make due with limited space in my dorm. Needed one screen for my TV, Desktop, and Xbox to connect to. This does wonderfully.
