Playback photos, music and video via USB, With USB Ripping, you can connect a compatible MP3 player to the LG product’s USB port and record or ‘rip’ music from a CD directly to the MP3 player. The tracks will be copied onto the MP3 player in the order they appear on the CD. This great feature enables you to copy music on a MP3 player without the need for a computer! Play DVD's and upscale them to 1080P for improved picture quality. Uses less than 1W in standby mode, With the Built In DVD Player you will be able to playback all of your favourite DVDs without THE need for a separate DVD player or any unsightly cables to worry about. DivX is a file format that allows movies to be compressed and fit onto a CD, as a DivX movie is about 8 to 12 time smaller than a DVD. DivX playback on LGs video and audio products allow you to download DivX movies from the Internet onto a CD or USB stick, to then enjoy in the comfort of your living room. All LG AV Systems support Progressive Scan technology, which helps to relieve the eyes from fatigue when viewing over a long period of time. Progressive Scan projects all the colours onto the screen instantly, without any break between odd and even scanning lines, resulting in a flicker free and high density image. The picture quality is improved even more with DVFX TrueScan pro.

Bought to replace the malfunctioning DVD transport on a Sony DVD/home theatre system. Connected to a 32" 1080p screen via HDMI, the picture is superb, and a vast improvement over an older DVD player connected via analog that used the tv's own upscaling. Initially the output was at 576i, but it can be manually set to 1080p using the remote and the difference is immediately obvious. It's not quite equal to a full HD source, but it's very close. Deep blacks, no obvious artifacts, handles motion well, minimal noise.
The player has a digital optical output, and connected to a suitable amplifier capable of DTS or DD5.1 decoding, sound is equally impressive.
It also looks great sitting on the shelf, and it has a variety of additional functions such as the capability to play video files via USB.
Delivered swiftly and instantly provided a new lease of life to my DVD collection. Films have never looked better.

This is the first LG product that we have purchased & based on this we will certainly consider buy their other products
Although it wasn't the cheapest I would say that it is very very good value, & lets be honest you get what you pay for in this world
This dvd player does what it says on the box & is very easy to set up & play, all done wthin ten minutes , good remote control & picture quality & it plays from where it was stopped ,something that we hear the cheaper one don't I would definately recomend this brand & are happy to give it a five star rating so far

We've got two of these now, one under the main telly and one in my daughter's bedroom. For the money they're cracking DVD players, with the upscaling capability a welcome bonus at this price point.
I've yet to do anything other than play Region 2 DVDs in them, so I can't comment on the other features or region hacks that other reviews have, but as an inexpensive replacement or kids-room DVD player, you can't go wrong with this.

Worked for one day...then died

We wanted a cheap dvd player for the bedroom that is simple to use, this fits the bill perfectly. Its was easy to set up and has a good picture. Very pleased with this purchase.
