edit: PLEASE NOTE - THIS MAY JUST BE MY EXPERIENCE - A COMMENTER FOUND AN AUTOPATCHER AND HAS v9 WORKING FINE
plus most people receive v10 of the software, which also works
Running Windows 7, 64 bit on AMD bulldozer, radeon 6870 and budget Asus motherboard
The included Power DVD v9 software, when asked to play a bluray OR DVD, just disappears, waits a minute and then reappears - no error messages.
Upgraded the drive firmware, the PowerDVD 9 software appears to be the latest version on the included disk, but their website isnt that intuitive. Their website states that, as version 9 is now old software, they no longer support it for Blurays made after 2011. An upgrade to PowerDVD version 12 for £35 will sort you out.
The burner is excellent - tested on the included single layer 25GB disk, it burned 25GB in 17 minutes, to a x6 BD-R disk, so im guessing to a x10 disk will be even quicker
