The LG BD 670 is not the fastest player out there (Panasonic keeps that crown), but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was certainly more than fast enough. Setup was a breeze and picture quality is sublime. The Smart TV features can be convenient and are very easy to use (includes some apps like iBBC Player amongst others and you can download more, though not all for free) if you're looking for that (I wasn't, but found it a big nice to have), and the included wireless even more so. There's also a USB connector on the front of the player where you can connect a hard drive or USB memory stick. LG also has an iPhone app to control this player which works really nicely, especially if you want to forgo having yet another remote control around.
DVDs upscale nicely, and the 2D Bluray is perfect. LG intelligently ignored useless features like 2D to 3D conversion (which our LG TV has and is spotty in its results), and focused on better stuff like the Smart TV and overall quality, but this is a 3D Blu Ray player, which was the main reason for our selecting it. Needless to say it performed magnificently in this area having already watched the native 3D Blu Ray for the movie Thor on it. It looked wow. 3D is not for everyone and not for everything in my opinion and having tried both active and passive formats, we settled on the passive one as it was more comfortable (no batteries, no charging, lighter, cheaper as in the theater) and delivered a better quality experience (less crosstalk, ghosting, resulting in better image quality) even if it was not, technically full HD to each eye. Results may vary in this regard depending on your television, but this player definitely delivers.
Pros: Easy setup. WiFi connection included. SmartTV. DLNA. Perfect 3D BluRay delivery and image quality. DVD upscaling looks great. Easy to use. Great interface. USB connector. Great price.
Cons: No 2d to 3d conversion (this could be considered a Pro as most other players and TVs have it and is a dubious feature at best). Not as fast as other players (though fast enough). Limited built in memory for downloading and BD Live features. No Magic Remote included.
Conclusion: LG ignored the gimmicks on this one, so despite it technically having less features and not loading as fast as some other players, this more focused, quality player delivers perfectly on the important points at a reasonable price. Whether you're looking for 3D, Smart TV or a good all-around player to have, you cannot go wrong with this one. It's great!

Good delivery time and the player was a breeze to set up. I have a Sony 3D TV with sender etc. and by buying the better LG player I dont need to buy the Sony USB WiFi to get BBCi player and other Apps so saving £60ish. It links quickly with my home network and using the supplied Nero Media centre I can play anything from my PC.

I took a while to make what I thought was an informed decision on this machine and take note of reviews on sites like this, but I am either very unlucky or these are tame or limited use reviewers. Purchased from Amazon and delivered with usual efficiency, however first machine packed up in less than an hour and completely failed. Replacement came pronto from Amazon and set up only to find display sickeningly jerky but upgraded to latest version and forced output resolution to 1080i and all media I subsequently tried appeared OK but Blu Ray no great shakes over my pioneer DVD!!. Files from USB not as good as a budget upscaling device I have. Pictures from camera, - well it reads some files but not others at the same settings ????. Compared Blu Ray against my sons PS3 and just not as sharp or smooth simple as that. Upgraded to latest version of software in December and now nothing views really acceptably. Gone to factory resets, upgraded, spent hours on support. Cannot be resolved so I now have to return this to LG for repair as I have now had the unit 2 months with only a few hours of use out of it. Possibly the worst bit of kit I have purchased in recent years, if the repaired machine fails again I will undoubtedly lose patience and put the hammer through it. Other than that the build quality is cheap v my other AV products and the online software and some apps beggar belief against some of todays offerings, You Tube especially appears flaky, cumbersome, and unfinished, on the plus side 3D is viewable, If this is a LG Flagship product well - I am lost for words. Update April 2012 - never resolved problems the machine is just used as BluRay player cannot resolve image errors update software at you peril cannot use NAS Out of 600 photos and videos taken on a holiday to Australia it recognises and plays just 4!!! and all 600 were taken in the same settings!! this machine is junk and has been relegated to a bedroom, LG never again !!
