Great looking tv and does the majority of things very well, picture really good and great for watching movies. However in 3d there are still little issues my glasses every so often either switch off or loose sync. 3d isn't quite there yet and is the same with virtually all 3d tvs. I really do like this tv so I'm trying with amazon and lg to put my glasses issue right, I don't want a different tv so that says it all really. Would have been 5 stars just apart from the teething troubles. Amazon price [...] was well worth it!
Follow on. Amazon have now replaced this TV, no issues now with the TV my only gripe is with delivery, they said it would be delivered on Saturday (but HDNL were not in my area until the following week) but collection was something else I had my TV delivered sooner than the faulty one was returned. This was due to Amazon (bad organisation) It took me over a week and around 10 phone calls. They sent city link 3 times (twice they didn't turn up) who could not collect due to heavy item which I kept informing Amazon. Very Very hard to resolve.Probably think twice about purchasing another large item from Amazon just due to poor customer service.

I purchased the LG 60PX990 and find it to be excellent in nearly everything. It is not as comfortable gaming on it as my Samsung 52" LCD, But Bluray and Gaming off PS3 is very good. The 3D content Via Sky is excellent and comparing the 1080i from Sky to the Shop's 1080P on other tv's I find this the Best 3D experiance bar none, including the Panasonic as the panny was the one I nearly purchased. The Plasma is a little darker than all the LED and LCD's but for 3D you need to be viewing on a Plasma. In addition the LG does all areas of 3D too. And panasonic can say not worth the technology of converting 2D to 3D but it does work although not as great viewing as the full on 3D. I have now ordered my Sony 3D bluray player (sony do this part very well) and can not wait for some decent 3D full HD 1080P Material to view. Buy this TV and I am sure you will be very happy. I am.

Not up to scratch 10 Jan 2011

Ordered this set with high hopes for the 3D. However, first set had horrible crosstalk (where you can see the ghostly outline of an image), i returned if after being told by LG this shouldnt be a problem, and the replacement set had the same. Both had exactly the same problems, which I've outlined below ...

- crosstalk on the 3D, making some things quite unwatchable and blurry
- problems with the glasses syncing for 3d - go out of sync and get flashes of colour
- dark 3D viewing - the plasma in combination with the glasses is too dark, especially dark scenes which could not be viewed with comfort
- 'dirty screen' syndrome - when watching football, for example, there are splodgy patches of shade that look like dusty screen when the screen scrolls from one end of the pitch to the other - it appears that uneven distribution of colour (possibly application of black filter?) are to blame
- the screen is horribly reflective in daylight
- black levels are pretty average.
- a fiar bit of line bleed
- it's massively heavy!

on the plus sides, the 2d picture is reasonable with a good HD source, and the aestetics of the set are nice.

In the end, after being extremely disappointed I replaced with a Samsung UE55C8000 which was only £100 more. It's LED and the picture is a lot more vibrant, in my experience more pop out and way brighter in 3d with less crosstalk. Take your pick, or wait for the next generation in 2011, but plenty of other people are having the same problems on the px990 thread on AV forums. Trust me, if you are after a good 3d experience don't go for this set....

Oh, and one final mention, amazon return service is shocking!! Endless calls to a foreign call centre, and they are still yet to refund me for the TV which was collected from me 16/12 (now 10/1!). Terrible. I'll never use Amazon for a large item again, games and blu rays only i think ....
