Manufacturer's Description

The HD Ready PQ6000 series has LG innovative single layer technology to provide an award winning frameless design.

LH3000

50PQ6000
The HD Ready PQ6000 series has LG innovative single layer technology to provide an award winning frameless design.

600Hz
LG 600Hz Sub-Field Driving Plasma technology provides zero motion blur and the ultimate razor sharp response time perfect for watching high speed viewing such as sports and movies.

HD Ready
High-definition television, or HDTV, is a new standard of TV with better-quality picture and sound than normal TV, the sort of standard you would see at a cinema. HDTV brings you closer to the action, offering more colours and a higher resolution picture (twice as many horizontal lines). This can make HDTV images clearer, sharper, more detailed and very life-like.

x3 HDMI
Connect your games console, blu-ray player or home cinema system through the 3 HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) ports for a true High Definition multimedia experience.

AV Mode
LG TVs have three special modes (Cinema, Sport and Game modes) for enhanced picture and audio quality. These are easily accessible using the AV MODE hot key on the remote control. Cinema Mode - Watch movies with vivid colour, smoother motion and cinematic sound effect. Sport Mode – Takes you closer to the action by emphasising the main colours and reducing motion blur. Game Mode – Optimises the TV for computer and / or games console for a more dynamic gaming experience.

Freeview/Digital
With LG, you’ll be ready for the digital switchover.By 2012, all areas of the UK will receive TV in digital as opposed to analogue. Freeview is a subscription free service which brings up to 48 digital TV channels including ITV2, E4, BBC3, and Film4, plus 24 digital radio stations,no contract and no satellite dish.

To check if you can receive Freeview in your area, text your postcode followed by your house number or name to 83331* or visit www.freeview.co.uk.

Invisible Speaker
The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker System, the speakers are embedded in strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. They enhance the audio by increasing the ‘sweet spot’ to give a wider and richer sound field. This speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional side or bottom speaker designs.

USB
The USB 2.0 feature allows you to connect a USB mass storage device to your LG product in order to play audio (MP3) files, display JPEG pictures and DivX Movies.

Took delivery this morning(30/06/09)very large box but nice chaps from nightfrieght placed it right where I wanted it. Very easy to assemble the stand, and found that at 35kgs I could lift it on to the bench with no problems. The single sheet of glass on the front really does look very sleek , easy to connect up, switched on, and let it do its set up. The picture, even for SD broadcasts, is very good I imagine HD will be stunning, but, I didn't buy a large screen plasma for watching soaps, Oh No. Connected up my D.V.D player(a P.S 2 using SCART AV 1) and watched the first 15 minuets of STAR WARS 3 revenge of the sith and STEALTH as both these films have fast action sequences with plenty going on. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING even through lowly scart, there is NO judder, smearing, wishy washy gray-blacks, just smooth, sharp, uninterrupted, fast flowing action, the 600hz scan and the depth of colour from the twin XD engine is SUPERB you have to see it to believe it even in day-light. Normal sound from the invisible speakers is very clear and plenty loud enough for everyday watching. I have my dvd connected up to a Sony surround sound but will have to upgrade to an up-scaling dvd surround with hdmi pretty damn soon.
All in all, for this money you CANNOT go wrong, well done LG.

Very happy with the television - a big step up from my previous CRT television. Great picture (deep blacks etc), powerful sound, strikingly big screen makes movies and games more impressive. Easy to use etc, and Freeview gave me a much better picture than my previous indoor arial - presumably because it's digital.
However, after a fortnight, feel asleep watching it and when I woke up there was no picture and it was making a strange sound. I eventually realised the screen had cracked (the window reflection had hidden it). I'm presently in touch with LG about it, who are ordering a new screen to replace it (rather than just giving me a new TV). So a little bit more cautious about LG - I don't know if this is a very rare one-off (would I have done a review if it hadn't broken?).

Nice peice of kit!! 4 Nov 2009
This LG Plasma TV was top of the list for me for a couple of different reasons, one was becuase the features were fine for what I needed and 2 because the price from Amazon was cheaper than anywhere else.

Easy to set up, just make sure everything is connected before you switch on and then the TV will do mostly everything by its self. Easy to navigate around once its running, the TV picture is great when you run it on a DVD of Sky, Freeview can look a little susspect but that is just Freeview and not the telly.

It looks great, the swivel base it quite handy.

2 reasons why I did give it full 5 stars, one is because on the scart channel that Sky is plugged into, if the Sky is not switched on it makes a very high pitched tone and its quite loud, but as soon as Sky is turned on it goes away, and 2 is that the USB menu is not that great, the menu is a bit of a pain in the backside, it seems the TV only likes a list of the Music or Pictures and not inside folders, if its easy for the tv to access it plays ball quite well

Overall I would not pass this product by and Im very glad of the purchase and would purchase aagin.
