47LH4000
The LH4000 series provides HD Ready 1080p picture resolution with LG Tru-Motion 100Hz technology to fully experience the very best in High Definition entertainment.

HD Ready 1080p
LG HD Ready 1080p (Full HD) provides 1920 x 1080p picture resolution, delivering incredible picture clarity and vibrant colours. This results in up to 5 times the picture clarity and detail in comparison to standard definition. 1080p television is the only way to fully experience the true potential of high definition gaming and Blu-ray, taking you even closer to the action.

LG TV Intelligent Sensor Technology built-in. View Larger

TruMotion 100Hz
TruMotion 100Hz can reduce blurring on fast moving scenes by
displaying one hundred images per second. Standard TV sets only display fifty images per second so more information means higher quality.

Intelligent Sensor
The TV picture automatically adjusts when room conditions change. Intelligent Sensor optimises the brightness, sharpness, colour and contrast of the picture within your viewing environment. This helps to protect against eyestrain, and the TV will use up to 69.5% less power (TUV tested).

Freeview/Digital
With LG, you’ll be ready for the digital switchover. By 2012, all areas of the UK will receive TV in digital as opposed to analogue. Freeview is a subscription free service which brings up to 48 digital TV channels including ITV2, E4, BBC3, and Film4, plus 24 digital radio stations, no contract and no satellite dish.

To check if you can receive Freeview in your area, text your postcode followed by your house number or name to 83331* or visit www.freeview.co.uk.

Invisible Speaker
The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker System, the speakers are embedded in strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. They enhance the audio by increasing the ‘sweet spot’ to give a wider and richer sound field. This speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional side or bottom speaker designs.

USB
The USB 2.0 feature allows you to connect a USB mass storage device to your LG product in order to play audio (MP3) files and display JPEG images.

Energy Saving Recommended
LG TVs help you save money and the environment An Energy Saving Recommended Integrated Digital Television (IDTV) can save around £7 a year and 20 kilograms of CO2 each year compared to a similar TV and set top box; they are amongst the most efficient in their class. There are over 16 million terrestrial digital TV receivers in the UK, and if these were upgraded to IDTVs it would save around £112 million in energy bills. With energy-saving features such as ‘Video Mute’, mechanical power-off switch and ‘Intelligent Sensor’, LG has one of the largest ranges of TVs registered to the Energy Saving Trust’s Energy Saving Recommended scheme. To gain entry to the Energy Saving Recommended scheme products have to meet strict criteria to ensure that they are amongst the most efficient in the market place. Check www.est.org.uk for more information.

I was looking to upgrade a 32" Hitachi LCD that I'd owned for four years and did a lot of research into bigger LCD TV's. I didn't want to spend over £1,000 and having looked at numerous different makes and models the LG 47LH4000 ticked all the right boxes. The picture is crystal clear with standard sky (HD coming soon!) and the set has a 100mhz refresh rate and LG's patented 'TruMotion' technology. The contract of the colours is fantastic. Built in freeview, 3 HDMI inputs, twin scarts, USB ports, you can read the technical blub above. I cannot find a single fault with this set and it was at the same price as the 47LH3000. I think that this TV does everything and more in comparision with sets costing up to £1,200. You will not be disappointed with this TV.

I cannot say enough to recommend this televison. I am so pleased that I decided to replace and upgrade my original Sony Brava lcd 40 inch television in my living room for this LG 47 inch. I gave my son the Sony one. This LG television is remarkable in colour, performance, picture quality, response time, everything! :)
It is of an extremely high specification and is all it claims to be, which is rare these days. I think it says it all when my friends visit and immediately tell me how impressed they are with the quality and clarity of the picture. And of course it's good looks, being of piano glass black surrounding frame and stand. The fact that it is 47 inches has made a huge difference to my viewing. Now I tend to need popcorn and pepsi to make the cinema experience complete. :)

The LG474000 is great value 100Hz 3 HDMI + lots of other inputs, very easy to use witch is good as the manual is pants! love the hidden speakers Comparing to the LED Samsung on full 1080p i do not think there is much in it and its half the price. Its worth the upgrade from my Panasonic plasma and its so light in comparison, need to go to hospital to fix hernia after lifting the panasonic off the wall bracket.
I wouldn't bother going up the range any more as the screen is the same just more features you will never use, although i did nearly look at the 7700 with built in freesat.

All in all very happy and LG (when did they change from Lucky Goldstar to Life's Good) actually build there own glass (they supply it to Phillips and Toshiba) so if you are driving off blu ray or hd sat you can't really get much better, (no processing, make sure you setup just scan rather than 16x9 though) and certainly not for the price

Pros: Great value, great picture
Cons: Wife didn't approve the purchase so in the doghouse, Dog and I are enjoying the TV though, just need to buy a new fridge with bear so the wife puts that in here too!!! Mmmm...Beer
