No kidding it really is better than his 5 grand set. Although I must admit that his set is nearly 2 years old now, never the less his is fully HD compat with a seperate tuner/dvd/hdd.
Oh!, and his dosen't have freesat either...
The picture is superb on the LF7700, the sat tuner is really sensitive and I have been able to tune both the "freesat" service at 28.2 degrees and Arabsat ARD6 I think at 28.0 degrees without having to move the 45cm dish.
Loads of control for personal sound and video settings, USB card reader for viewing photographs and listening to Mp3's.
There is a network RJ45 socket on the rear for future use, streaming video via internet/freesat according to the bumf..
Nothing wrong with the sound either, loads of bass from the downfacing speakers and the highs are catered for by "hidden speakers around the frame. I suffer from Tinitus and have found listening to the set a lot easier than our previous Sony 32" bravia.
A nice touch too is the swiveling base/stand, facilitates easy removal and plugging in of cables. 3 HDMI sockets, 2 Scart, composite video and RGB inputs, 15 pin VGA for the old computer too, plenty of scope there. SPdif audio out, shame I don't have a decent sound system with SPdif input...
All in all a great set. I am highly delighted as is my wife, she actually stays up to watch programmes on it, rather than watch the tv in our bedroom, as she used to.
