It was to replace a Samsung 32 inch LCD TV, about 4 years old. I managed to fit the stand and put it on the plinth without assistance. On power it up, it automatically set up the channels, as you would expect.
Pictures looked good, and BBC HD pictures particularly so. I had a 1920 x 1080 pixel test card on a USB stick - the TV played this out very well, as it did the BBC HD test card during the morning test period.
I had measured the power draw of the Samsung TV at 145 watts, so measured the draw of the LG. I came in at 80 watts. Not bad for a much bigger screen.
The only minor niggle occurred when I connected the Humax PVR and the DVD player via a switch box into the single SCART socket. For some reason, if the Humax was powered up, as it has to be to make a recording, the TV kept dropping back to the SCART input.
I shall have to save up for new PVR/DVD with HDMI outputs!
