I had this TV for just over a week, (having had to replace a Samsung 6 series that died) and I have to say I am very disappointed with it.
It has so many things wrong with it. Firstly not only does it feel very 'cheap' but it wobbles on the stand, and for some unknown reason tilts upwards by quite a few degrees.
The picture is one of the worst I have seen. Freeview reception is very poor and it suffers from a constant blocky picture on near all channels. Neither of my previous TV's suffered from this. The picture has a surreal quality about it. It does not really deliver a natural colour tone regardless of how you fiddle with the settings. Blacks come out either dark blue or dark green depending on the predominant colour in the scene you are watching. It has a constant graininess that gets worse as you notice it.
But the most annoying thing, is that it has a terrible lip synch problem. Watching Freeview or Satellite via the SCART connection is like watching a badly dubbed movie. And frustratingly it comes in waves, sometimes it is barely noticeable, but at other times it is appalling and renders the TV quite unwatchable.
The sound was 'OK' but only just. The only thing this TV has going for it is the inbuilt games (which my kids really liked) and really easy USB playback.
Maybe I have been unlucky as far as the lip synch issue is concerned, and the set is genuinely faulty, but quite frankly I can't get past the terrible picture.
I know that the set is built to price, so you can overlook the cheapness, shiny thin plastics and wobbly stand, but if the picture is terrible what's the point?
The set has gone back and I have replaced it with a SONY KDL40EX503. And MAN what a difference!
The difference in the picture compared to the LG is astounding. The Sony delivers the best picture bar none that I have seen in the price bracket.
Sorry LG but your quality control is terrible and your TV just does not cut the mustard in the picture stakes.
