Great TV for the price but.....,

This review is from: LG 32LE4500 32-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD LED TV with Freeview (Electronics)
For the price this is a fantastic TV. The contrast ratio is amazing, and a huge number of inputs means that you can connect just about anything. The design is understated, with a very smart gloss black bezel and stand. There are no buttons or speakers visible from the front with only a very small white feature light in the centre of the bottom bezel which you can disable if you want the super-minimalist look. This is my third LG screen and the remote control has had a significant make-over from the previous 2 with larger buttons and clearer labelling.I am currently using the stand provided so you don't really notice just how thin this screen actually is. At some point I will wall mount this to get the full effect, and as it only weighs slightly over 10 kilos (or 23lb in old money) I'm not worried about having to spend a huge amount on a wall mount that can handle it. I tested the USB input with a 16GB stick with some movies and music on it. The movies played back without any issues as does the music. The interface is easy to understand, allowing you to "mark" files that you want to play, or "mark all" to play everything. There are a few nice touches to LG's design for this functionality, such as the ability to start music playback then switch over to photos and fast-access buttons for changing to a different audio preset to name but two. The screen is only being used for gaming, so I can't comment on the free-view TV tuner or EPG software. I have a Xbox 360 and a Wii connected with the Xbox connected via 1 of the many HDMI inputs, set to 1080p resolution. It looks great and during gameplay I haven't noticed any lagging or blurring on fast moving games. The Wii only outputs in Standard Definition and whilst the difference is noticeable this is no fault of the screen. My only real gripe with the product, albeit minor, is the audio. It comes with two 10w speakers that are very nicely hidden so as not to spoil the aesthetics but it can sound a little on the weak side. With a screen this good, you really want some decent external speakers to fully appreciate the experience. Now a word or two of warning for anyone considering purchasing this. Firstly, it is not DLNA compliant and does not have LG Netcast as the Amazon product description states. Please check the LG website for a full and accurate description of what is provided. Secondly, like a previous commenter I also had some issues with the delivery. City Link courier are "recycling" tracking reference numbers which meant that the tracking history for my delivery was very confusing as it shows the first iteration of the reference number in addition to the records for my package. It also appeared to confuse City Link as they shipped my TV to Kent (only 350 miles away!). However, when I phoned Amazon, they were very helpful, contacted City Link whilst I was on hold and resolved the issue in under 15 minutes, and as promised the TV arrived the next day. They are also refunding the delivery charge. So, if ordering, please check the tracking history if available and if it looks weird phone Amazon straight away and you might avoid the delay. I firmly believe that ratings should be about the product so despite the misleading description and delivery faux-pas I am still delighted with this and have awarded 5 stars accordingly.

Even tedious programmes look good!,

We have enjoyed a 21" CRT Toshiba for ten years, and I did a LOT of "Windows" shopping before buying this just in time for Christmas. Delivery was fast, just 4 days, and the set was well packed. The basic instructions are adequate to get the set running, but a lot of fiddling (largely enjoyable) was required to delve into the possibilities of the set. I find it hard to use a screen to read instructions, and much prefer something in writing on a sheet of paper, but I understood why a CD is used when I discovered the range of models, most with similar systems. The picture is superb, although coming from a CRT, viewing angles seem restricted. This is NOT serious, I just can`t sit in ridiculous places to watch, while doing something else. Probably good for my concentration.I turned Automatic Sound Level off, as the function was actually upsetting the level between commentary and music on some programmes.Music too soft, commentary too loud! (I am not a fan of Pop music). I run a Humax Freeview recorder, and having set the TV to "ORIGINAL" for the various screen formats, all pictures appear true and even ITV3 thud and blunder appears at its best. I and my wife are very happy,-let`s hope this set lasts 10plus years as the old CRT has!!!

Fantastic TV. Had the same issues with the citylink tracking. Rang Amazon to make sure that it was being delivered correctly who in turn rang citylink and made sure everything was ok.As a previous poster has said, reviews should be for the product and not the courier or Amazon service, therefore 5* given.
