HDMI 1.3
HDMI 1.3 eliminates on-screen banding for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradation between colours.

High-definition television, or HDTV is a new standard of TV with better-quality picture and sound than what you're used to. HDTV brings you closer to the action, offering more colours and a higher resolution picture similar to what you'd see at a cinema. This can make HDTV images clearer, sharper, more detailed and very life-like.

All LG TVs come with built-in Digital Freeview making sure you're ready for the digital switch-over. With LG TVs you'll have access to over 40 Freeview TV and radio channels 8 day on-screen guide and access to digital interactive services.

ISF Certification
ISF Certified Calibration Controls allows LG TVs to be optimised for your specific environment. Via an optional service and ISF professional can precisely calibrate your display with customised levels of contrast, tint, colour level and other parameters to bring the picture to life.

Energy Saving Recommended
This TV has been certified by the Energy Saving Trust to save power consumption up to 20% therefore can save you money off your electricity bills.

What are Invisible Speakers?
Wide Sweet Spot. The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker system, the speakers are embedded in strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. They enhance the audio by increasing the ‘sweet spot’ to give a wider and richer sound field. This new speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional side or bottom speaker designs.

5.0 out of 5 stars great picture 13 Sep 2010
The picture is very good even when compared with my 50" pioneer, but the sound quality is poor - infact very poor

5th nov - just fitted the tv to a wall and noticed a strip of plastic protective strip fitted to the under side of the tv. removed strip - sound much improved. I would seem the strip covered part of the speakers - sorry LG

Bought from Amazon - arrived 2 days later from PRC. Fantasic picture and sound. I wanted freeview but after initial set up only got 10 stations. Called PRC who said, not to worry because if set was faulty they would come and replace it but given the technical problems they suggested I call LG direct. Called LG - service was fantastic, took me through the set up process and Bingo - everything worked. Sound was very thin - BUT - I discovered that speakers, which are underneathe the set, were covered with thin film - once removed sound was excellent. I would say there are two "cons" 1. - there is no insrtuction booklet only a CD which in our house had to be viewed in a different room and also something like 179 pages. My advice - call LG direct and they will sort out the problem and 2, the power cable was too short for us - the TV bracket is over head height in kitchen but cable length was only up to knee height. We were ok because we concealed an extension cable behind a closet. Its a great little set, I was prejudiced against LG and other less known makers - silly me!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great TV let down by ' thin' audio 17 Aug 2010
By Kazza
Excellent buy and good looking TV but let down by poor sound quality. Despite menu adjustment the sound was still 'thin' in comparison to other makes. However, the overall quality and great price compensates somewhat for this one irritation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent TV for the price 27 Oct 2010
Bought this 19" TV for the kitchen to replace a 25 year old Sharpe CRT 14" portable. Not sure that the pink strip under the frame really enhances the look but it doesn't detract from the fact that this is a neatly designed set with a narrow frame and neat stand so no complaints really.
Sets itself up automatically with one click of the remote control and finds all freeview programmes in a matter of minutes.
The remote control is excellent with clear large numbers and function names and raised buttons for volume and program change. There are also buttons on top of the set for the primary functions ie: on/off, volume, program change, menu and input selection.
The menu contains a picture and sound wizard which if followed allows plenty of adjustment to optimize picture and sound to personal taste. Some reviews have mentioned a thin or poor sound but I find the sound very good for such a small set and as stated there is plenty of adjustment. (please note though that when you take the set out of the box there is protective plastic film not only around the frame but also covering the speakers which must be removed. This is not mentioned in the basic instruction book but will obviously affect the sound if not removed).
I have not found the need to look at the CD instruction manual as the remote control operation is fairly intuitive and easy to navigate, and I am no youngster being in my sixties.
Overall, after a week I am extremely pleased with this set. It has an excellent picture (especially as it is through a loft aerial in a bungalow with no signal booster), and very good sound for its size.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't believe comments about thin sound 5 Oct 2010
By RevNick
Don't believe the comments about thin sound in other reviews. The sound is excellent. I bought this TV, set it up (dead easy), got an excellent picture, and thought 'Oh dear, they're right, the sound is unbelievably thin.' However, I happened to notice a piece of clear plastic wrapping on the underneath panel of the TV that hadn't been mentioned in the booklet. When I pulled at it, it turned out that it completely covered the speakers! Immediately the sound improved about 200%!! So I suspect the people who have posted the dodgy sound reviews still haven't removed all the plastic wrapping from their TV!! This is a fab product. Buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value 17 Sep 2010
By Sentinel TOP 500 REVIEWER
We bought this set a few months after a similarly priced Samsung, and reckon that overall, this is the best buy. Picture quality and set-up is good/easy, though we agree that an instruction manual would be helpful. It also would be helpful if it indicated what channel had been switched to, as another reviewer remarked. However, the quality of the in-built Freeview is clearly superior to the Samsung, for we live in an area of very poor reception, and the LG set is better at avoiding break-up, and picture freezing. Again, sound quality isn't terrific, but this is par for the course for this size of set, irrespective of make. Overall, good value for the price (9 months later).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bargain. 12 Sep 2010
Verified Purchase
Bought this TV on amazon and came the next day. Great tv. Picture quality is fantastic for such a small tv and when the lights are off, because of the small outer casing, it almost looks like you can only see the screen, great for gaming. Definitely worth a buy.

Good picture and sound. Good remote, very good tv display. I dislike the blue highlighted on/off button, very bright especially at night and distracting.
