Nice little set 2 Oct 2009
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
A very nice set from Lego with a great price considering that you get 5 mini-figs, goes well with the Hoth Rebel Base set that was released a couple of years ago.

Got as a birthday present for my son who is 11 and a massive star wars fan. He absolutely loves this. Uses it in conjunction with other lego star wars products and gets hours of fun out of it.

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Lego continue to celebrate their 10th anniversary for Star Wars Lego with 7749 the Echo Base battle pack.
The pack consists of a snow wall, a Golan Arms DF.9 anti-infantry battery turret, a BlasTech E-Web heavy repeating blaster and a collection of figures. For the first time ever this kit contains a brilliant Lego Taun-Taun.
The wall defences and the turret can be linked together or displayed as two pieces. The platform behind the wall that the Troopers stand on is hinged so they can tip back and fall off to simulate hits in battle.
The turret features an opening rear hatch with room for one figure inside, opening top hatch with seating for one figure and dual firing flick missiles on either side of the main gun which can be launched by pushing a level at the rear. the upper module rotates the full 360 degrees.
The Taun-Taun is nicely done and had moveable arms and removable horns. It comes equipped with reins and a saddle which has storage clips on both sides and stands an impressive 9 cm tall
You also get five figures with this set. Han Solo (in Hoth gear) is featured riding the Taun-Taun and is armed with a black blaster rifle and a pair of electrobinoculars.
There are 2 Hoth Rebel Troopers with backpacks. The visors on their helmets have been remodelled and made to look more like the ones from the film as opposed to the old 'fighter pilot' goggles we've had to date. One trooper is armed with a black blaster rifle and the other has a black heavy assault rifle.
Finally there are two Imperial Snowtroopers. One is armed with a black blaster rifle and the other comes complete with a BlasTech E-Web heavy repeating blaster and power box. The E-Web is the best version of this cannon to date and looks great.
The snow wall is 11 cm long, 7 cm wide and 4 cm tall. The turret has a 5 cm wide square base and the upper module is 7cm wide and 11 cm long from aft to cannon tip.
The kit comprises 115 pieces (not including figures, weapons and missiles) and construction time is about 10 minutes.
A fantastic army builder kit and a great companion to 2007's Hoth Rebel Base.
