5.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to Have Your Buckles Swashed! 16 May 2011
By Mr. S. W. Steel VINE™ VOICE
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is the second Lego game this year - following on pretty quickly from LEGO Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars (Xbox 360), which came out at the end of March. It includes all the stories from the original film trilogy - The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. It also includes the upcoming new film On Stranger Tides. So, straight away you are getting good value for money, as each film has 5 chapters each.
Unlike some of the earlier Lego games each of the chapters are of a good length and have plenty for you to do - complete the main quest for the chapter, but also try and hunt down the extra items such as the ship in a bottle (replacing the mini kits for this game), and using Jack's magical compass to locate certain hidden items within the level.
Graphically, this is probably the most polished of all the Lego games and has plenty of the humorous cut scenes we have all grown to love throughout the series.
The levels themselves are well well realised and look brilliant - the bright beach levels, contrast with some of the darker levels, so there is plenty of contrast.
The 'hub' environment is well thought out too. There are lots of things to do - unlock new characters, and locate the Red Hats (replacing the Red Bricks of the other games which enable you to earn extra abilities such as invincibility, breathing under water and the essential score multipliers). Certain areas unlock as you earn more Gold bricks from the main game, and this is a nice touch, as you get more areas opening up more regularly to keep you interested.
I only have one minor complaint, and that is the unlockable characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars The latest of the Lego series 24 Jun 2011
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I have played almost all the Lego series on the Xbox 360 and own quite a few of them. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is the latest that I have bought and am currently playing. The graphics have improved over the last game (Lego Harry Potter) and brings the same fun of smashing everything into little bricks and collecting studs. However, this game is full of bugs - I have had 3 lock ups requiring the Xbox to be turned off at the wall, several times I've found my character stuck in the scenery and once there was an "invisible wall" blocking my character from walking/jumping forward preventing me from completing the level. Most times, restarting the game allows you to continue but since you can't save until you have finished each level, you can easily lose 1/2 hour of game play and have to restart from the beginning.

In summary this game has improved in graphincs but is currently a lot buggier than earlier Lego games.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most fun games in years. 11 Oct 2011
By Azania
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game after having played the demo, which I highly recommend to avoid wasting your money if it's not your thing. If you enjoy the demo then definitely get the game, it is much, much more of the same fun gameplay with almost 100 different playable characters with many different skills and interesting levels from all 4 of the films. There is so much bonus content to unlock by collecting items and unlocking new areas, that every level has replay value.
Another great part of the game is the fact that you can play 2 player co-op all through the game, choosing to work together or just run around madly collecting coins. The split screen system works fantastically, seamlessly joining when the two players come close enough. The game is just as fun 1 player, but it's always nice to have the option for a friend to jump in at any time.
This is probably the most fun game I have played in years, and I think should definitely have been a candidate for game of the year over some bigger titles. It is very thoughtfully made - you never have the feeling that any feature was just rushed in to get the game on the shelves, and cleverly designed in terms of using lego pieces to make the props, while the other scenery is as well modelled as any other title. It is also very funny where other games are just lame.
If you are a fan of Pirates, then this game will definitely go down well but even for those not so bothered about the films, the game is just fantastic as a standalone title.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but very buggy 1 Sep 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Great in parts. Who wouldn't want to be capt jack? But the game is a a bit of a crash fest. All the bugs are well documented but a patch is not in the pipeline. We have your money, so forget it. All the crashes have work arounds. Just a shame that tt and Disney don't give a damn. 3 star review is for the bugs alone.

A great family game for younger audiences which provides many hours of enjoyment playing as your favorite characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean universe. You can play through all 4 of the pirate movies with nice designs to the well known characters. This is a very enjoyable game that has child friendly gameplay and attractive graphics. Great game. 8/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Lego game winner! 19 May 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I just love the Lego series of Xbox games. They are pretty long games normally as there is so much to find and you have to find certain characters before you can finish the levels so need to unlock all levels then keep returning back and chipping away at the items to find. Having said that, I think this game is somewhat shorter than some others like the star wars for example, but still a decent length game and highly enjoyable for children and adults alike. The humor is still there in the game and every now and then I have a little chuckle at something one or other of the characters does. Have to give it 5 stars for the sheer continuity of enjoyment which can't be easy after so many games.
