My son was keen to collect Ninjago after playing with them at a friend's house, and this was the first set he got. The build was quite straight-forward, although the weapons going into their holders proved a challenge and I stepped in to help.
We spent a few hours with the Sensei Wu and a skeleton and spinner from another set having a battle. Unfortunately, it only comes with one spinner, so you will need another set and General Nuckal isn't the most stable on a spinner. As the minifigs spin around the dojo, they invariably crash into the scenery, so minor repairs were needed as we went along.
Since those first few hours, the set has been barely touched. It seems to have an initial peak of huge interest, but not the lasting play value that he gets from his other Lego sets.
I'm sure it will be revisited in short bursts when friends come to play, but not much beyond that.
