When buying lego sets, I usually don't focus entirely on what the set itself contains, and more on the replayability of the set in different ways. In saying that, as a set in itself, the Jungle Cutter set is very well done, the jungle cutter itself looks very well detailed, and the breakable trees just add to the enjoyment of running things over with a giant cutting machine. Including Indiana Jones, Colonel Dovchenko and two Russian guards and five ants, the minifigure side of the set is also impressive, with Dovchenko only appearing in one set other than this one. Though it would have been nice to see Marion and Mutt at this price range. Alas. The set isn't too hard to build, though little ones will need some adult help for some of the more fiddly parts.
However, the set really shines on the replayability level, mainly due to the jungle cutter itself. As it comes with a set of treads and lots of green blocks (always helpful) the jungle cutter can be remodeled into anything you can think of- though admittedly I didn't get much further than 'a tank' and 'other vehicles with treads'. This helps if you have missing pieces, as the fun doesn't have to stop if you can make something new instead.
All in all, this is a very good set, with a lot of replayability in store for those who want to rebuild and remake whatever they feel like. However, as with all Lego sets, make sure you check the recommended retail price and shop around before, as prices fluctuate all the time.
