Its a lego standard game and its Star Wars. most kids and fans will be happy with that. Its actually quite good although player movement and play can be a little fiddly. My daughter (6) found it quite boring and alittle confusing but my son (5) loved it although, like chess, it will take time to understand tactical positioning and player moves without refering to the manual.
this is a 2 player vs game, unlike the heroica and harry potter games. The objective is to get to your enemies 'base' square or defeat all the other units in the enemies team. Taking in turns, your team can move and/or attack with a special dice deciding the outcome of battle.
The board layout is very simplistic with no detail or environmental objects to build. The bulk of the building is player peices and it seems this kit may be a little overpriced for what you get in the box. A bulk of the price is probably for the star wars brand and recognisible vehicles/characters. This set can be found cheaper elsewhere but, like i found, it will be going out of stock like crazy as Star Wars related merchandise can be very sought after. I picked up the last one in stock in my region, one week after release, simply because i reserved it.
All in all another quality title, a little overpriced and not as fun as lego hogwarts (which is the best my kids and i have tried outside of the 4 Heroica sets). Maybe this would be suited better for kids of 8 years and up because of the tactical complexity. It'll be interesting to see what lego release next in this range.
