My eight year old loves lego knights so this game jumped out at me when I saw it. The pieces are quite small, but I wasn't disappointed since that is what the pictures indicated. Just be careful with the pieces. They are very small and some are unique so even being careful we have had to search after games to find them all. Also since it is small it looks more like a mini-game, but once you play you see there is more than first meets the eye.
My wife and I have played it a couple of times with my 8 and 4 year old. The game takes 10 to 15+ minutes, which is a nice amount of time for game or two, because it keeps the attention of even young ones, but is interesting enough for older ones. (Much better than your average mindless children's games like "Candyland" or "Chutes and Ladders."
The rules are simple with alternative rules. (Players are also encouraged to invent their own rules.) The game involves some problem solving / decision making, which is good. Even my younger one is catching onto the strategy, however, he does get very upset when others decide to block him or worse, which this game encourages. As far as value, like most legos you pay a premium for what you get, but the quality is good.
