4.0 out of 5 stars More fun than you could lob a Batarang at! 17 Dec 2008
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Having almost cracked the gargantuan Lego Star Wars Complete Saga on the Wii months ago I was delighted when I found that my beloved Dark Knight would get the Lego treatment.

I wasn't disappointed. Indeed this game aptly manages to marry the kid friendly good humour of the Lego franchise with the epic and compelling legacy of Batman, and the game has personality and charm of its own in spades!

The trademark Lego humour was still there but it wasn't derisive of the essentially dark Batman mythos. The characters in the game are larger than life and given to slapstick comedy but still true to their comic book counterparts.

Batman and his supporting cast are as lovingly rendered and animated in Lego form as one would expect from the franchise. As in lego Star Wars, every character moves, jumps, runs and fights in a unique way that is true to their character and they all have fun special abilities that are grounded in the comics. The little idiosyncracies of the characters contribute much to the overall charm of the game. Leave Two Face standing too long and he'll flip his trademark coin, make Killer Croc double jump and he'll bellp flop like a crocodile, Poison Ivy can take down guards at close range with her trade mark lethal kiss.

Missions are fun and engaging, though a little short lived. In fact, I think Lego Batman requires around half the completion time of its counterpart in a galaxy far, far away. Easily the best feature is the ability to play through each level from the point of view of the criminals as well as that of the heroic Batman and Robin.

All the Bat-vehicles are also at your disposal and the vehicle levels are far more accessible and easy to control than in previous Lego games.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun 5 July 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My brother, who is generally not very good at Wii games, the controls are sometimes too difficult, loves this game and is brilliant at it.
Him and my dad play this together (as Batman and Robin) collecting power ups, changing suits and fighting the baddies.
Even though the game is not designed for a 14 year old girl, even I have to admit that the controls, storyline and graphics are one of the best I have seen on the Wii.
Thanks for reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 4 year old loves this 10 Aug 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Finding suitable games for a 4 year old is a challenge. My son gets bored (understandably I feel) by the games targeted at his age (e.g., Diego, Dora, Nickelodeon) but games targeted at older kids are often too hard for him as well as being inappropriate (e.g., too violent). My son nagged me for weeks to buy this for him so based on several very positive reviews for 5 years olds I bought this for him (going against my better judgement). Although it's certainly too advanced for him, it's not so hard that he gives up in frustration. At least in the levels we've experienced so far there is not a lot of violence so he can explore the levels in his own time without having to worry about being attacked/shot. Another benefit is that it's very difficult to die (something that he finds stressful in other games).

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great LEGO game! 15 Feb 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
On first playing the game, it seemed a bit disappointing compared to the other games in the LEGO series. However, when you discover that you can play as the bad guys, such as Catwoman, the Riddler, the Joker and the Penguin, the game becomes a lot more fun. The main difference is that Batman and Robin do not have any good special abilities, and the suits that you pick up for them are quite lame at times (especially the ones for Robin) but the special abilities for the villain characters are more original and enjoyable.

As with the other games in the LEGO series, once you finish the game there are still hours of gameplay left trying to find all of the hidden objects and getting all the super hero/villain points. It will be much more enjoyable to replay the Batman and Robin levels with the villain character.

All in all, it's a good game with some clever levels and enjoyable gameplay. Hopefully the makers will be creating new additions for the series soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic fun, great fun! 11 Jan 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Only bought this game today but can't stop playing it, its absolutely fantastic. The game is good fun; the 'action' is easy, but the logic part of the game is sufficiently challenging to entertain an older player. This is the first game I've played in the 'Lego' series but I will definitely be buying more.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT 4 Nov 2008

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I usually never play games. I ended up one weekend ages ago playing lego starwars and loving it. Was not sure if Batman would live up to it, and it did. My 6 year old son and I had a fantastic weekend and half-term playing, our favorite was playing the villain games. We have been talking about which one is better, and we are still undecided. The characters in this are fantastic. I am a firm fan of the lego game series, I think for my sons age (and possibly mine) its brilliant.

4.0 out of 5 stars challenging but fun 2 Jan 2010
By Champak VINE VOICE

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
My son (aged 10) really enjoyed this game. He liked that it was challenging and fun at the same time. He also liked the way you don't just have to be batman or robin, you could switch sides to play as a villian instead of a hero. Overall I would recommend this seen as my son loved it and it is a must lego game for the wii.
