Product Description

Build the Empire State Building as New York City’s famous skyscraper joins the LEGO Architecture Landmark Series of real-world construction models. Completed in 1931 during the height of the Great Depression, the Empire State Building was the world’s tallest building in the world until 1972 when the World Trade Center opened. Voted one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, the Empire State Building exemplified the Art Deco movement and is often considered the symbol of American skyscrapers. This golden LEGO model, co-developed and designed by Adam Reed Tucker, celebrates the early age of skyscraper design and stands as a colourful giant in The Big Apple’s skyline.

Bought this after months of lusting after it! Had seen Lego architecture in one of the stores on holiday but no Lego store near where I live so had to buy online. This is a truly fantastic range- perhaps not for kids but for older lego enthusiasts! Not a challenge to build but I didn't expect that and that wasn;t why I bought it. It is a really quirky concept and the completed products are elegant and stylish. I can't wait to add to my collection.

I bought this for my niece for her 10th birthday. She loves it, but I was shocked to see how quickly she was able to make it. Perhaps it could have been a bit harder to put together, as once it's made, part of the interest is lost (in my opinion.)

A brilliant buy. A good price and a brilliant product. Would definitely recommend if you like Lego, nice and easy to build and a good model to display.

I have a friend who is a LEGO freak and he loved this kit - as a Christmas present. But what impressed me most was the company's response to an email I sent immediately after ordering. I said that, unfortunately, I'd been late in ordering and I hoped they would be able to get it to me by a particular date, when I was leaving for France, or otherwise I would have to post it on to my friend in France after my return. They responded straightaway and pulled out all the stops to get it to me. Excellent service!

Seeing the new Lego architecture range on the shelves of our local department store recently I stopped and had one of those "aha!" moments. The idea is just so brilliant and obvious - making accurate models of modern landmark buildings whose smooth and sleek lines might have been meant for Lego - that you winder why it wasn't done years ago.

So, my son deserved a reward for something he'd done, and we were in the shop, so... look, here we are. How is the model in practice? Well, although small, I can comfirm that when completed it is really nice looking, ideal for display - not perhaps for play, unless you have a scale model King Kong. My son reports that it was straightforward to build, although the design (high columns of 2x1 bricks with no cross bracing) means it is not very robust. (But how robust does it need to be? I suppose it depends on the weight of King Kong!)

I think this is very much the starter model in the range, others are more complex and detailed. Overall - intriguing idea, well realised, and strking in appearance. Well done Lego.

This easy-build set is targeted to adults with an appreciation of architecture and New York landmarks. The set is quite small---less than 8 inches tall---and is a nice little piece to leave on your desk for office visitors to admire. With a price point of less than 16 pounds, t's a reasonable and unique gift to surprise someone special. The real bonus is the detailed booklet that comes with sets from the Architecture series, with information about the history and design of the building.

Note: there are no "unique" pieces in this set, aside from the named plate on the bottom that shows Empire State Building. If you have an extensive Lego collection, you could download the instructions from the official Lego website and build from that.
