My son got this for his 6th birthday last week and he was thrilled as soon as he saw what it was as they have been hyping up the advertising on these for a while. I dithered about spending over a tenner on what I thought was basically another Ben10 figure. He has had lots of the normal figures over the last couple of years and gets alot of imaginative play out of them at first. They usually start losing arms and legs over the first couple of weeks though and he is ultimately disappointed.
These are perfect for younger Ben10 fans as they are a different type of lego and my son (who finds normal lego quite hard) had built his spidermonkey by himself within about 10 minutes. There are only about 14 different pieces and all quite large. They click in with ball joints so the finished product can move all arms and legs in all directions. The finished figure is much larger than I thought and very impressive to look at. The real fun comes when you have another figure from the collection though (LEGO Ben 10 Alien Force 8410 Swampfire in our case) and you can connect every part of each alien to pretty much every part of the other alien so make 2 mixed up aliens or 1 huge super alien with extra head. My son has found this hilarious and after seeing the jealous looks he was giving his cousin's LEGO Ben 10 Alien Force 8518 Jet Ray and LEGO Ben 10 Alien Force 8519 Big Chill yesterday I suspect I know what he will be spending his birthday money on.
I doubt it will be long before he loses some bits although he tends to sit down with it, build something with all the pieces and then play with finished creation. The bits are attached very tightly so they can't fall off while he is playing. If he does lose some of the bits there are still loads of things he can build so I am giving it 2 thumbs up! Well done Lego.

My almost 5yr old has all the sets of the Lego Ben 10 range, this being the final one he received in the series. It has been made, unmade, put together with the other sets in the series. He absolutely loves playing with it, great for the imagination, very durable and easy for him to construct.
Unlike other Lego products which bits tend to fall off of, this one stays together so can be taken out of the house - which it has been on several occasions.
So if you have a Ben 10 fan who loves lego then this might be an ideal item for your child too.

My little boy recognised it immediately, even though I have no idea
where he has seen Ben 10 as we don't have Cartoon Network.
We put together in a few minutes and he is very happy that it can stand up
and the arms etc move.
Overall it is a good toy for a 4 year old boy.

Lego Ben 10 Alien Force Spidermonkey
This toy can sticks to walls and spins strong webs. The arms are moveable and the eyes glow in the dark, my grandson loves it. It has endured hours of play from a 4 year old.

My 5 yr old boy has 3 of these. He loves making weird and wonderful combinations. It's expensive but I think will last forever.
