Stop the alien abduction! The alien defense unit soldier is on a mission to stop the UFO as it tries to abduct the poor farmer! Watch out, the UFO’s illuminated tractor beam is fired up to capture him! Fire the flick missile before the alien brings the frightened farmer on board and spins his ship into space. If the UFO lands on the farmer, he’ll be trapped inside.

Brand new for 2011. I think Lego has another hit on its hands with the Alien Invasion series.
This set is very good value. It's quite challenging to build but without being frustrating, so you start to get you money's worth as a parent from the minute the box is opened. My son was kept busy with this for quite a while but there were no tantrums!
As for actually playing with it, there's enough in the box to keep any child occupied for hours. Great for sharing with friends of brothers/sisters too, since one can play the alien and the other can play the earthlings.
Speaking as a parent, having Lego break its product line into diffferent series these days has its pluses and minuses. On the minus side, I honestly think you pay through the nose for often pretty skimpy playsets that are based on certain very popular film series that shall remain nameless. On the other hand, Lego's in house series- for which there are no expensive royalties to pay- are comparitively good value. The City series is always a winner, Atlantis was great, and now this Alien Invasion series is up to that standard.

This is the first Alien Conquest model we've had, after loving the Atlantis series last year. My 6-year old was desperate for this and bought it with his own pocket money, then built it himself and absolutely loves it. The long green aerial things are vulnerable and have got lost a couple of times but if you don't plan to take it apart again and again you could fix with a bit of glue! On this note is I think the weakness with these models - they're not really playthings as all they can really be is what's on the box (we have another box of bits & pieces for real lego model building!) Nevertheless, very impressed and I'm sure it won't be the last one of the series we buy.

what can we say.. It's Lego! so in other words we love it. This new alien series is great and as an adult it makes me laugh!
