One of the better 2009 Lego Vehicles

This construction site dump truck has very good playability and is well-paired with the front-end loader (#7630). Both models are at the low-price end of the Lego City line. And both are nicely proportioned. The dump truck has a few more specialized parts than the front-end loader, but other than the two boulders, there are no pieces that are truly single-use (e.g., no one-piece truck bed). I can't find any shortcoming in terms of play (nothing keeps falling off when children play with it). I strongly recommend this model so long as you can find it at or below MSRP (when Lego models rotate of out production, you'll find resellers often list sets at ridiculous prices; shop wisely).

My son will be 8 and has been building legos for years now, large to small pcs as he grew. He will build for hours and create his own but he is now collecting all of the city construction. The pcs stay together, you can really use them to play with where they don't come apart once put together. Great for imagination and creativity.

I found two faults with this set. The sides to the trailer are set specific. The hinge for the trailer breaks off easily. Otherwise it is a fine set. It articulates nicely. My four year old likes it but I have to refix the hinge often.
