A great box of traditional, design-and-build-it-yourself Lego. A lot more actual Lego pieces than similarly priced plastic boxes (eg LEGO 6166 Large Brick Box), this is a great toy for children around the age of 5, both for learning to follow simple printed instructions as well as encouraging them to create their own houses, cars, boats, planes etc.
Much more fun and imaginative than the more prescriptive Star Wars and City sets, which my 5-year old tires of long before anything's been finished.
And, for Lego, not a bad price either.

I bought the small pink box of bricks for my granddaughter but was quite disappointed that there weren't very many bricks in it. This set has lots and lots of useful bricks, as well as special elements, 2 figures, and even some little letters to post through the letterbox. It comes in a cardboard box but any decent sized plastic storage box would hold all the pieces. There are wheels, doors, windows, even a helicopter. Great value. I would recommend this as a starter set as long as you also purchase a large base plate on which to build. Lots of fun for years to come.

Excellent value for money in this set. You get loads of lego and several ideas are included. I would highly recommend going for this set over the ones that come in a plastic storage box as you get far more lego and lets face it you can pick up a cheap box to store it in anywhere.

A good buy
