Lego are going into Space - and this particular set contains quite a few different elements and is an ideal stand alone or addition to any Space collection. All the pieces come in 2 bags, for the different elements, so there isn't too much hunting for pieces. I would say it's a build best suited for a 6 year old or above (my five year old needed quite a bit of help as there are quite a lot of teeny bits that are tricky for small hands).
The first section to build is the launch pad which includes a rocket and a small satellite you can attach to it and the control pad. This is all straight forward but the little van is a bit more challenging, we found the front of the little van (12cm long and 8cm tall by my measurements) very difficult to add and it is a bit prone to coming loose with play. That said the detailing to all the models is a nice touch - there are rather a lot of stickers where printed pieces may have been nicer, but elements such as the computer screen (sure the mug of coffee next to it is a health and safety concern though!), and the fact that you can pretend to launch the rocket as the support to it swings down and the satellite detaches are nice elements to the set.
My child really enjoyed building this, it's a shame it comes with a technician mini-figure and not an actual astronaut (for that you will have to buy a bigger set) and that there is the issue with the vehicle front, and the back is a bit tricky to open and close to put the little computer table into it. That said, for the price, you seem to be getting a fair bit of lego here, and it's one of those sets that does get played with after construction. Recommended.
