1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 6 April 2008
I bought this book with high expectations after seeing a positive mention in the press. I was very disappointed. The style and the thinking is cliched. Some of the content is simply banal. The blog-like structure does not make for a satisfying book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and interesting read, 18 April 2008
I bought this book as a result of hearing the author being interviewed on one of the Beermat Entrepreneur podcasts. I have to say that I personally found it to be a very informative and interesting read. It's not about `how to run a business' (but the author is quite up front about that) but more about what life is like working for yourself, including the highs and the lows, with quite a few personal anecdotes. It's easy to read, but at the same time it offers the reader some good, honest straightforward advice, based on personal experience. A great addition to anyone's bookshelf, and I would thoroughly recommend it. 5 out of 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars INSPIRATIONAL, 3 Feb 2008
By Mike Berry (Uxbridge, Middx) - See all my reviews
Ian Sanders has perfectly captured the mindset of the entrepreneur. As someone who has "leapt", I found it struck many chords. I particularly liked Part Four (Worklife): Sanders doesn't shy away from the tough parts of going it alone, including loneliness, rejection and bad months. But he also points out the freedom, the ability to carve out your own work/life balance and the tremendous satisfaction when things go well; no-one else can claim the credit!

I recommend this book to anyone who is think of making the jump out of the 9-5 to running their own business: it will help them make an informed choice. I also think every existing entrepreneur should read it, to remind them why they "leapt" in the first place.
