Product Description

Product Description

LAMY AL-star colours

LAMY AL-star – The light aluminium-experience.

The Lamy AL-star is the attractive, young writing instrument which satisfies even the highest requirements. With distinctive grip and spring-loaded metal clip.

Aluminium is a lightweight hightech material, whose excellent utility properties are confirmed not only by the drivers of top-of-the-range cars, but also by the many young and young-at-heart people who write with a LAMY AL-star.

If you also have a penchant for modern technology, you will certainly be impressed by this robust and yet elegant writing instrument. Thanks to its particularly striking, self-sprung metal clip, for instance. And, of course, the transparent grip section which permits an insight into its mechanical interior.

The original, only natural coloured LAMY AL-star has blossomed into one of Lamy's most popular model families. It offers all the important writing systems. And with the regular addition of new cool metal surface colours it ensures that things never get boring on desks and gift presentation tables around the world.

The LAMY AL-star is made of feather-light robust aluminium, anodised in various colours.

LAMY AL-star systems

Available Writing Systems

The LAMY AL-star is available as ballpoint pen, mechanical pencil, fountain pen and rollerball pen.

Fountain pen

Fountain pens support individual handwriting more than any other writing instrument. Whether you are seeking to develop good handwriting or want to sign letters and contracts in style, or simply prefer the individual character of handwritten news to the anonymity of e-mails.

Mechanical pencil

Pencils are the most popular, uncomplicated writing tools: Perfect for making notes, sketching, and dictation. And if something should go wrong, one can simply erase it.

Basically, a Lamy mechanical pencil can be operated as easily as a ballpoint pen. Just press until the lead point appears – and simply write. Or sketch. Or draw. If the lead refill is used up, just press once more – and then you're ready to go again.

Almost all Lamy mechanical pencils have an eraser tip at the top end of the body, just under the removable push button. For easy and chemical-free corrections.

Ballpoint pen

As a long-lasting, reliable writing system, it is one of the most important products of our daily lives.

On the side: in compliance with ISO 12757, Lamy ballpoint pens refills do not contain any toxic chemicals and are therefore environmentally compatible. In addition, they are waterproof, which is important in particular for the signing of contracts and when displaying receipts and copies.

Rollerball pen

Lamy rollerballs are a good alternative to fountain pens or ballpoint pens. Combine the best of the two classic categories: Our rollerball pens are as easy to operate as ballpoint pens. And they have a similarly beautiful typeface to the fountain pen and offer a very high level of writing comfort.

I have had this pencil for a few months now, and on the whole i must say I'm a little disapointed. The pencil looks nice and is not too bad to hold (although the triangular profile of the grip is a little strange.) The finish on the aluminium barrel looks great but i feel that it might scratch easily, especially if you wear any rings. The pocket clip is amazingly tight and almost impossible to slide onto a shirt pocket, I thought that after two months it might have eased up a bit. On the whole it is a nice pencil but at the same time as purchasing this instrument I also purchased a Kuru Toga pencil by mitsubishi which although not as aesthetically pleasing as the Lamy is years ahead in performance and equal in quality (and has a cool lead rotating motor so the lead wears evenly at all times!) is only about 1/3 of the cost of the Lamy. On the whole this is a great pencil but not the best value for money, I'd go for the Mitsubishi Kuru Toga any day.

I just love this pencil and am using it for writing music. I've got a variety of pencils for this purpose and the best of the HP ones nevertheless need sharpening a lot, whereas my new Lamy pencil obviously does not need sharpening so I don't need to interrupt my writing quite so often. The Lamy pencil has certainly lived up to the good reputation of its makers.

Ordered this twice and returned this twice. Apparently Lamy believes a Ballpoint Pen is a Mechanical Pencil if you put it in a mechanical pencil box.
