Product Description
Tap water is safe to drink because it is regulated and controlled by the local water authorities. Nevertheless pipelines, some of which are old and obsolete, may release undesirable substances. These, together with the chlorine, which prevents bacteria growth, may affect the appearance and taste of the tap water.
Filtered water using a jug and cartridge system has been drunk daily in Europe for more than 30 years, by approximately 50 million people.
The most practical and cost effective way to filter water and reduce limescale, chlorine, lead, zinc, copper, some pesticides and herbicides, whilst maintaining the essential elements such as calcium and magnesium, giving water an excellent taste and appearance, is to use a LAICA water filtering system with jug and cartridge.

Having used my Britas filter jug for many years I got fed up paying the high prices of their filters. Gave these a try a year ago and have stuck with them. Although the fit isn't as tight as one might like it still does the job with tasty filtered water. Don't worry too much about all the charcoal flakes that float in the top reservoir. As long as they stay there and NOT in the water you actually drink then all should be fine. Highly recommend them if you are fed up paying thru the nose for Britas.

For many years I have used Brita filters but they have become prohibitively expensive. I decided to try the much cheaper filter made by Laica and I have not been disappointed. The water has been fine and I have not noticed any appreciable difference in the taste.
