I have just finished reading this book, which took me two days to read on and off and I absolutely loved it. If you have read the first one and liked it I would definitely suggest you buy this book.
It continues right where the first book ended, jumping straight back into all of the drama and scandal. I don't want to give too much away but this book continues to keep the juicy storylines consistent throughout it's pages which will keep you hooked. As it is a continuation from the first book, it is still not really giving much away about "The Hills" TV show but it is still fun trying to spot things that might have happened behind the scenes!
I'm not sure if the writing style was better in this book or if I simply got used to it from the first one but either way, I didn't find it to be such a distraction. Still, it is a very easy book to read and doesn't exactly require much brain power. From the writing style alone I would suggest it is perfect for young teens, however there are mature themes throughout that are not really suitable such as frequent swearing and mention of underage drinking etc.
The characters personalities are consistent throughout and the storylines are (mostly) realistic and believable.
If you haven't read the first book, I'm sure that you could still read this one without being too confused as it does offer small recaps. However, Sweet Little Lies and L.A. Candy really are books for people who enjoy watching reality television and don't mind leaving their intelligence at the door for a little while.
